Auger blades are spinning

sound like you might have 2 problems. If auger doesn't engage in heavy snow you probably just have ice accumulation inside the impeller. Dont try to engage until impeller is cleared of snow (shut off and unplug spark plug before cleaning) Second if blades are spinning than you must have hit something in your path and broke the shear bolt (about 2 bucks at hardware shop) remove the old bolt and replace it and it should work again if this is the problem. Good luck.

How to replace fan belt, must i remove radiator

Usually no - but the job can be troublesome! To install the new belt you may need to remove the shroud blots so it will move. Typically shrouds have just 2 bolts on the top corners and small tangs on the bottom, so remove the top bolts and pull up on the shroud to get it to move. Place the belt over 1 fan blade and spin the fan to the next blade, push it over, etc, to get the belt around the blade. Make sure you get those tangs on the shroud back in their slots or the shroud bolts won't line up !
Thanks for using Fixya!

The button does not disengage the blade, it only locks the blade/motor from spinning so you can remove the locking nut. Lock the spindle/motor/ blade, from moving and then remove the locking nut or disk. Should be counter-clockwise.

My S107g worked great for a week but then the top blade just stopped moving. The lower blade is spinning away and the top one sits there limp. What's going on?

well firstly you still have warranty on it, get them to replace it..

the blades are controlled by a motor and a gear system in the helicopter itself. The gear is broken or the motor is wedged in by the gear. or simply burnt out, You will need to open it to unwedge the gear and if it spins when you turn the gear, you need to replace the motor. Both blades use separate motors that's what allows it to trim (turn) when one set spins faster than the other, It goes straight when both blades spin at the same speed.

I hit a brick, lawnmower won't move help

check for bent crankshaft at blade connection point. do this by removing spark plug and turn the mower on its side with carburator side up, now spin blade by hand and see if it will spin without a wobble. if it does not want to move, something else inside the engine is damaged and probably not worth fixing. if the blade does not spin true, it is a bent crank and might be able to be straightened by a mechanically inclined person without further damage to the motor. also check to see if the piston is moving while spinning the blade if it will turn at all. I have a Homelite Z830SB Brushcutter. I use it with the blade attached rather than the line, for cutting. It starts fine, but it does not engage (i.e. the shaft does not spin...so there is no rotation in...

the inner shaft could have broken, which is the case a lot when using the blade vs the string remove the shaft from the motor, and spin the inner rod and see if the blade turns, if it does check the end of the rod and see if its damaged in anyway , if the blade doesn't spin, the shaft has broken and will need replacement

My fan is not rotating when I connected to plug. There is no burning smell or anything. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance

Hello.

I have a Holmes pedestal fan that does this every few years. I have had this fan for about 10 years.

Unplug the fan and remove the fan blade guard. The fan blade should spin easily when you tap the edge of the fan blades with your finger. If the blade barely moves and abruptly stops, the bearings are dirty and need to be cleaned and oiled with 10W non-detergent motor oil. A quick-fix is a tiny bit of WD-40 where the motor shaft (the rod that the fan blade is mounted on) meets the bearing (the part of the motor that the shaft spins on). To properly fix this, you must oil both the front and back motor bearings which requires removal of the motor housing.

If the fan blade spins easily and you are certain that the fan is getting power (try a different outlet) the motor may be bad. Likewise, if the fan blade will not move at all. I do not know if Holmes sells motors for these fans. Here is their online support website:

www.holmesproducts.com/Support.aspx

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

P.S.: Never turn a motor-operated appliance on for more than a second if you know it's not working. That will cook the motor windings.

The pull start cord will only move about 3-4 inches and then it stops and then cord stops, Troy built- Briggs/Statton 21 inch self-propel lawnmower.

The mower's drive shaft may need to be lubricated. If you turn the mower over and try to move the blade by hand (with the mower off, of course) does it move, or is it hard to move? If it's hard to move or it won't move at all, lubricate the shaft by squirting some WD-40, 3-In-1, or other lubricating oil onto the drive shaft where it meets the chassis of the mower. Squirt enough oil to cover the circumference of the drive shaft, then try to spin the blade again. It should at least spin a little bit now. Squirt some more oil and spin the blade again, until the blade spins easily. Then turn the mower back over and try to pull the start cord -- it should pull normally now.

Od700c shredder: motor spinds, blades don't move

Inside the motor assembly there are a series of nylon cogs , a large one of which interacts with a metal one.  This is the most likely place you have one or two teeth missing from the large nylon cog that drives the shredder blades.
