Changing from RF to digital on Panasonic DMR-ES20DEB

I seem to have inadvertently changed the signal to RF instead of digital. How can I get digital back?

Well I was referring to my DVD recorder, the panasonic DMRES20DEB. I was playing around with the signal and I think I'm only getting analogue and not digital, wondered if playing with the RF frequency may have messed everything up.

But I've seen that others have had a similar problem with losing digital signal with this model, so maybe it has just given up the ghost. It's only a couple of years old, too... so not impressed!

A Panasonic dmr-esr20D has now only got analogue channels available and no amount of retuning/scanning will get the digital ie Freeview channels to come back.

Audio? Video? input? output? Short questions are nice but vital details are helpful....
Lets assume your talking Audio output since those are the only digital settings you can change, but first a little bcakground.
RF would refer only to you video input via the tuner if thats what your referring to it should simply be a matter of changing the input (channel up/down or input up/down).
Your audio output can be changed from analog to digital and vise versa and can be chaged from the Menu(hit Menu when no DVD playing) settings under audio.

Hmmm yeah we dont have Freeview here in the states so our DVDR's dont have digital tuners, yet. We really need to have a counrty flag on these posts so that we know what models/where.

To reset the factory details as if it was just removed from the box - Leave the recorder on, flip down the front panel on the recorder and then press and hold the channel up and down buttons at the same time until it says bye on the display. Wait a few seconds then turn it back on. It should automatically select all the programmes available

Cannot Record using VHS

The question here would be one of two things. Obviously without probing further it would seem you're having an "unusual scheduled recording" issue. But, without further information it's difficult to tell.

For one, are you recording from straight signal (cable or antenna into the RF IN of the unit), or are you recording from a box (cable or satellite receiver or D/A converter, etc)?
Do your scheduled recordings record the first and not even pick-up the second, or do they record but only record static?

These are questions that will need to be answered before further assistance can be provided.

Try holding down the stop button (black square logo) and the channel change button (upward pointing logo) at the same time for 5+ seconds. If this dos'nt work also press open/close button at the same time as above
