Question about Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook C1020 Notebook

Open Question

I'm trying to replace the power in socket on a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C1020 but having problems taking apart. As I look at the screen, I cannot get the bottom off on the left hand side. There are no screws that I can see, it seems as if it's glued. Cannot find disassembly instructions anywhere. Can anybody help please.

Thanks small6363, that might be the answer if the hard drive was at the back corner.

There may be a screw somewhere but I'm blowed if I can find it.

SOURCE: replace the power in socket on lifebook c1020

i took apart a dell and was having the same problem. on mine it turned out to be double sided tape and it pulled right apart. but you should check, check and recheck for screws before you just yank it apart

How do I restore the built in keyboard on my Fujitsu Lifebook C 1020

You need to take apart the laptop to do this.

Why not simply attach a portable USB keyboard which will work just as well?

My laptop doesn't turn on and the red indicator of the battery

check the power settings and make sure that the battery and power cable settings are on when plugged in. Also sometimes a battery needs to be installed to do this. If the power adapter is working then all should be fine.

My Fujitu Lifebook c1020 display is bad and needs swapping. I need a repair maual.

its pretty simple to change the screen on this computer, and you dont really need a service manual (i dont even think you will find one for that)

the way you do it is remove the rubber "dots" around the screen, there should be atleast 4.

when they are out, and you have removed the hidden screws, you can take of the frontbezel around the screen.

when the bezel is off you might need to loosen or remove 1 of the 2 screwes on each side at the bottom hinge.

the screen itself is fastened to the hinge with 2-4 screws on each side of the screen. remove them, take out the flat/wide cable on the backside, and disconnect it from the 5-6cm long printbord.

reverse the process when you put in the new screeen.
