Question about Philips MX3700D Digital Surround Sound Receiver System System
System shuts down after only 10 minutes. (FM tuner and DVD player)
It seems to be overheating for some reason, but the repair person who is looking at the unit does not know why??

Power off the system
Unplug the power cord
Wait 5 minutes
Plug back the power cord
Power up the system
Press the open/close button
Load a DVD and play
If the tray still will not open, the cover will have to be removed and manually operated. You may have to have a technician look at the unit.

When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:
Unplug power cord.
Plug back power.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject.
If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be taken apart to remove the disk.
