Question about Sharp AR-168D Black and White Copier
Parts are absolutely still available for this machine. It was introduced in February of 2004. Most manuafacturers supply parts for at least 8 to 10 years minumum. If you have a maintenance contract then you need to make them fix your machine. All manufacturers provide letters to their Authorized Dealers when discontinuing parts support for any particular model. Therefor if they tell you they can not get parts then ask them for the letter from Sharp saying there are no parts available. Most of the time this is just a ploy to try and get you to buy a new machine.
If you do not have an agreement then look for another repair company/person as they are not looking out for your best interests.
If you want a site that sells parts then check out precisionroller.com
Just put AR168D in the search box at the upper right, they have something like 50+ parts listed and they are not even a Sharp Dealer.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
