Very!! What a relief to finally be done . Thank you so much.
Perhaps I misunderstood about 2 drivers. Did not receive any print out or anything.
    Have a blessed day.

Error code 41 from Lexmark printers normally signifies a printhead with a major issue. The great majority of the times I have dealt with that error code we ended up having to replace the head or the customer has replaced the printer. Sadly the printhead on the 5400 printer are worth as much as the printer itself. If you have a warranty on the printer I would definitely have it looked at by your local Lexmark warranty depot. If there is no warranty left then have it looked at and get an estimate. Most repair shops will charge you one hours labor to diagnose and give you an estimate. At that point you can decide if you want to fix your unit or replace it.

On a side note I have to say that in the 30 years I have spent working on computer hardware and printers I have never heard or a printer that needs 2 printer drivers. I did a Google search on that subject and could not find a page within the first 75 pages of results. I'll be the first one to admit that I do not know absolutely everything there is to know about computer hardware; no one could. This is definitely a new concept for me. Did they happen to mention to you which 2 printer drivers you would need?

Please follow the following steps.

1) Turn off the printer.

2) Shutdown the PC to which the printer is connected.

3) Remove the USB/Serial cable through which the printer is connected to the PC and reconnect it back.

4) Now switch ON the PC(only PC and not the printer)

5) Let the PC boot up and login to windows.

6) Now switch on the printer, PC should detect the printer automatically now.
Now you will be able to print.

I have a T3516 desktop e machine. The problem i am having is i use to have a hp printer hooked up to it, i have unistalled it and am trying to install a new hp printer and it won't let me it keeps saying...

You may have tried this already but if not-
- Turn off your PC - If not already connected, connect the printer and turn it on. - Finally turn on the PC and watch for a message from Windows stating "Found new device."
If all is working properly, Win should at least install a basic driver or if it finds none compatible, it will ask to insert the installation disk.
Good luck-

Trying to install HP Deskjet 5440 software onto new HP Probook 4415s computer w/ Windows 7 Professional 32bit & get dll errors. slbcsp.dll, sccbase.dll, gpkcsp.dll, Enum

Win 7 has been very thoroughly reworked so those 'missing' files were probably never there. Go to the HP website and click your way to the product support page for your model. I'm fairly sure you will find and updated install program or at least new drivers compatible with Win 7.

My computer is saying my printer is not hooked up and it is what can i do

Hello, this is a very common problem and the solution could range from very easy to something more difficult. To answer your question, it would take some troubleshooting. Is your printer connected by a USB cable? Most newer printers are, so I will assume this. I would try plugging your computer into another computer and verify that the other computer detects it. If it does, you will see the "detected new hardware" window pop up. Backtracking a bit, most USB type HP printers ask that you first install the software from the HP printer CD first, before connecting your printer. If you don't do this installation properly other issues come up that prevent your printer from installing properly and that's another question.
So to answer your question, first you need to verify that your printer is ok by trying to install it on another computer, or at least be sure that it detects. If it does, then you know your printer is ok. Secondly, make sure the USB port is working correctly by plugging something else into it like a USB thumb drive or a USB mouse, etc. If all of these things are working, make sure the printer is on and connected properly and check the device manager under the control panel and see if there is any printer showing up there. If so, disable or uninstall the printer and try to connect again after following the HP manufacturer's instructions, such as using the install CD first. If you don't have the CD, you can find the software on the HP support website. Google, "HP driver downloads". Your problem is not something that has a simple answer because there are so many reasons why a printer won't detect, but the solution requires a methodical step-by-step troubleshooting like I mentioned above. One of the major problems is that the printer sometimes is not compatible with your computer. You need to verify that the printer is compatible with your operating system and computer. Have you done that? For example some of my HP printers will not work on my new Vista computer because my computer is too new for my older printers. All of these things have to be investigated online by going to the support page at HP.com and verifying compatibility. I hope this gets you on a good start.

Bought new computer with windows vista, my printer [deskjet f380] is not compatable with vista, any thing i can do,or will i need a new one.

Hi! Windows sometimes offer a compatability issue report and should direct you to the site where Vista related drivers can be installed, if not try Hp's website support/downloads for Vista compatability issues. I'm sure if the printer isn't too old then your luck may be in and you'll get the required driver/s.
I hope this helps!

Samsung ML-2510 doesn't respond....

I solved this problem with windows xp but have yet to solve it with windows 7. what worked for me is hooking up the hp print server to my network switch and to the 2510. Then I installed the 2510 driver using the samsung exe and choosing NO when it asked about installing the driver without the the printer attached. The NO choice continues and installs the driver. Then run the HP printer wizard choose drivers on this computer when you get to that spot. Then choose the 2510 driver and finish up. You may now have 2 2510 installations and may need to delete the default one under printers and set the other as default. This worked on 3 different xp machines for me

We could fight with your old one and try to get vista to see it, but your not a computer person HP dont support it and i think that road may just lead to more frustration for you so maybe best if we just get you to replace it, any new printer of any brand on market should be vista compatable.

Double check specifics on HP officejet 4315 all in one and it is compatable, as I would say is any new printer on the market.
