How do i fix this

Known as "Not Found" errors, 404 errors occur when a link attempts to resolve to a webpage that does not exist.

When links are "broken" in this manner, search engine rankings can become affected and visitors grow reticent to return.

Luckily, the broken links that cause 404 errors are easy to find and fix using Google's online webmaster resources, allowing you to ensure that all pages display correctly and without error.

Log into Google Webmaster Tools by entering your Google ID and password.

Add your website to your Google Webmaster Dashboard.

Type your domain name (everything in your URL before the first forward slash)

into the Dashboard text box.

Click the "Add Site" button.

Select a verification process.

Click the "Verify your site" link.

Select your desired verification route from the drop-down box labeled "Choose verification method."

Select "Add a meta tag" and paste the provided code in between the <HEAD></HEAD> tags of your homepage, or choose the "Upload an HTML file" option to upload a blank html file with the name specified by Google.

Verify ownership of your web domain.

Upload your amended home page or Google-named blank HTML file to your server, depending on the verification method you chose in Step 2.

Use an FTP program to transfer the file in question to your website.

Click the "Verify" button to complete the process.

Identify 404 errors.

Click the "Dashboard" link to view website errors.

Examine the "Detail" column and locate any web addresses that show "404 (Not Found)" results.

Click on the "Linked From" column for each identified 404 error to see the location of the page that contains the broken link.

Visit the page that contains the broken link.

Right-click on the broken link and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location."

Right-click in your browser's address bar and select "Paste" from the ensuing menu.

Examine the link in your address bar.

Look for stray quotation marks, spaces, periods or commas.

Remove everything before the first slash from the link and see if the domain still displays.

Fix broken links. Open a text editor and load the HTML file for the page in question.

Correct link typos and delete links that no longer lead to live websites.

Save your amended HTML files and re-upload them to your server using your FTP program.

Return to the Google Webmaster Tools Dashboard.

Click the "Sitemaps" link on the left navigation bar.

Click the "Resubmit" button to resubmit your website's sitemap.

Wait an average of four to six weeks for Google to re-index your amended website pages.

Hope this helps

My Emachine with Windows Vista keeps shutting itself down? What could be the problem?

The first step would be to turn off automatic restart on BSOD errors.

  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.
  3. Click on the System link.
  4. In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.
  5. Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.
  6. In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.
  7. Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.
  8. Click OK in the System Properties window.
  9. You can now close the System window.
  10. From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary.
Now when it errors it wont restart, instead it will give you an error message that we can use to troubleshoot your problem.

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!

I am trying to print on my Canon MP830 and I have had two error messages. 5C10 and 5100. I don't know what these errors are can you please help?

There seem to be a number of involved suggested fixes for the 5C10 error code.

Please go to this web page, and click the "Service and Support" link.
This will display a "Please enter your question" field. Type "5C10" into the field and click the Search button.
The first entry displayed will be a link to "ERROR LCD: Error Code 5C10" -- click the link
Three new links will eventually display:
  • Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device
  • Removing paper jams MP800R / MP830 / MP530
  • The MP830 may require repair

Click each link to see if the solution provided is appropriate to your situation.

I have a Lexmark Z11 that sat unopened in the box for several years until it was given to me as an emergency printer. The black ink cartridge had been pilfered by the original owner ( he got several of the se printers on clearance for $15 each). I bought a remanufactures high capacity cartridge. It workef fine for the three days of printing I did last week (about 25-30 pages of resumes and reference letters). When I went to use it a week later, it goes through the motions of printing but no ink is put on the page. I ran the clean cartridge several times but still no ink. I tried the new still-in-the-box color cartridge and did get color on the page in the alignment trial, but it was faded and full of white lines. I figured the cartridge was just old. It could be the ink leaked out of the remanufactured cartridge, but when I gently blew on the air hole I got a small splat of ink. (I used to be a sales rep for Canon printers a dozen years ago and we were told to do that to see if the cartridge still had ink.) I deleted and reinstalled the printer, unplugged and replugged cable and power cord twice. The printer receives the command and goes through the motion of printing, but as I said, no ink is put on the page. I have come to the conclusion the perhaps the remanufactured cartridge is at fault and I should take it back for an exchange, Can I get your take on it - is it the cartridge or the printer? Thanks! -Kathleen Brockway
