SOMETIMES a spark at the spark gaps provided at the sockets of CRT'S HAPPENS. They put spark gaps because some tube arc when the high voltage comes up initially and the spark gaps protect the semiconductors which drive the tube grids the gaps are protecting.
Any sustained arc of course is a no-no. A single snap can occur at times. Watch for anything indicating failure in the normal operation and get it serviced.
