Hi daddyo1269. That problem could mean that the laptop is overheating, probably the fan is not turning on and the CPU temperature can rise very very quickly and it shuts down in order to protect the CPU or the motherboard. After you turn it on, turn the laptop upside down and check the fan. If the fan is spinning propertly then the motheboard is "short" for some reason so you have to take it to a repair shop. I hope this helps and dont forget to rate.:D Thank you.

What brand of pc is this? Download a diagnostic program to test internal functions. Sounds like maybe a motherboard or power supply issue.

Hi the sceen goes black when it is switched on for ten minutes if I switch it off for a few minutes the sceen comes back on. It will then shut off again after a few minutes. Thanks Alan

This is due to the inverter for the backlight, or the backlight itself going bad. You are going to be better off replacing the screen unless you are handy with electronics.

The unit runs Ok for a few minutes and then shuts down.

Does it do this on just battery power or with an external power source? If on battery poer, then the battery if defective.

My laptop compaq 6735s will only stay on for a few minutes before shutting itself off and not working for a long time. Also, the area where the port is for the laptops charger get's exteremely hot. I don't...

This sounds like *********** board is overheating due to probably dust and fan not working properly. Try using air can to blow some of the stuff of off the fan from the bottom of the laptop but make sure you dont tip the can over while doing this because the air turns in to ice and it will mess up you laptop. If just blowing air don't work then you have to open it and clean it up.Hope this helps.

Multisync LCD 1700V turns on then screen goes blank and shuts off

Does the power light stay on? If so, you have an inverter problem. If the power light goes off, you have a power supply problem.

Sounds like a graphics card overheating issue. Move the computer case somewhere more open and cooler, and use a compressed air can to clean dust from the case and card.

I HAVE P5RD1-VM ASUS BOARD NOW COMPUTER STARTED PROBLEM

Hi,

several reasons for this.

1:) CPU Overheating.
2:) RAM Overheating.
3:) Motherboard Component Overheating.
4:) FAN not operating correctly.

These are a few things that can shutdown a computer after a few minutes, also viruses/trojans et,c.
can shut off hard-drives. and even instruct the bios to change settings.

Check that the CPU And case fans work correctly.
