Question about HP Pavilion dv9000t Notebook
Kids dropped the laptop a year ago. Since then screen background will occasionally turn light blue, like it does when you apply pressure to the back of the monitor while its open. Now the screen is starting to go black. Both of these problems are remedied by adjusting the screen forward or backwards. Is this a video cable problem, a backlight problem or the screen itself? Can the video cable and screen 2 separated, or do they have to be replaced as one piece?
The screen comes apart from the front bezel and back bezel. Try reseating the LCD cable. Reseat it behind the lcd and also reseat it where it connects to the motherboard.
The backlight is built into the screen so if reseating the LCD cable doesn't do the trick then that means the screen would need to be replaced.
