LOL,, well if your serious about that then a carbon fish tank filter unit, and an aquarium air pump and aerator stone should do nicely, if you actually want to turn your Kenmore swimming pool into a washing machine again then you will half to look underneath the unit and find the water pump, follow the drain hoses, this pump may be belt driven or have a separate motor to run it, insure the belt is still on and tight or put in drain mode and see if the electric pump is functioning, if all is OK check to see if there is a filter that is plugged, when you made it this far let me know and i will help further good luck

W/o it work if I don't add shock to the water, is it dangourse to swim in whilst it's green

Hello Jeannette -

The green color in a swimming pool is a sign of algae.

Apparently, the big problem with algae is the bacteria which can feed on algae waste.

Regarding bacteria feasting on algae waste . . .
(Quote)
Some of the most encountered problems are gastrointestinal illnesses, like E.coli and Giardia, rashes, skin lesions and other dermal infections, respiratory infections and swimmer's ear.

Personal opinions: I won't swim in an algae filled pool. You shouldn't either or subject anyone else to a swim in algae filled pool. Clean it up and keep the pool well-maintained, or drain the pool and cover the empty pool so no one will be subject to an accident.

Best wishes.

Our pool is about 90000 litres of water so how big filter do we need please

If you have a above ground pool go with the Cartridge or sand, and if underground go sand or D.E. All have their ups and down you should find out what you want from them specifically cause they all do varying amounts of the same thing.

Sand Filters
(Filters using literally sand)
For sand filters, on inground pools, I like to use a 30 inch tank diameter, which is a 4.9 sq. ft. filter surface area, and holds 600 lbs of sand. For small pools (under 20,000 gals), I might advise the next size down (24 inch tank), if the budget is tight. But never go smaller than a this for an inground pool.
Cartridge Filters (like a air filter)
I have a rule of thumb for cartridge pool filters. 100 sq. ft. of filter surface area per 10,000 gals of pool water, as a minimum. I like to see the 400 sq. ft. models on inground pools above 25,000 gals. These can go an entire season without cleaning in most cases.
D.E. Filters (Ground up fossilized algae)
Because they offer the most superior type of filtration, people tend to go small with DE, and buy a 24 or 36 sq. ft. DE filter. Ugh - go Big! Nothing below a 48 sq. ft. filter, and if your pool is over 25,000 gals, go with the Big Boy - the 60 sq. ft. filter.

Also make sure the filter can take the amount of water that the pump is pushing through it.

There are 7 1/2 gallons of water in a cubic foot.

3172 x 7.5 = 23,790

To calculate how much water in a swimming pool, in 'US Feet':
Length x Width = Surface Feet
Surface Feet x Average Depth = Cubic Feet
Cubic Feet x 7.5 = Total Gallons

PINNACLE POOL PUMP SHUT OF DUE TO POWER LOSS THEN CAME BACK ON ALSO IMMEDIATELY NOW PUMP RUNS BUT NO WARE PUMPING

Fill the pump pot with water and make sure the lid o-ring is lubed and in good condition. Replace the lid and turn the pump on. If it still won't prime make sure the water in the pool is high enough. Otherwise you make have a suction side leak. Any breech in the plumbing will allow air to enter the water stream. If the breech is big enough no water will be drawn to the pump.
