Our printer/ copier/ fax continually gets the INCORRECT PAPER SIZE alarm with every incoming fax. We never know aht will fix it. We try putting in letter size in the cassette and also the side feeder and sometimes that works but sometimes not. We use strictly legal size and have used this unit with ONLY legal size paper for 4-5 years now. We have always used legal and have never had any problems until 2 weeks ago or so. Cannon was of no use and said the unit is not designed to auto re-size incoming faxes to legal from letter size but does convert from legal to letter via the RX setting. I guess the magic spell then has worn off our unit that allowed it to do that. Any ideas?!

Someone has probably sent you a fax on 8 1/2 x 14 inch (legal size) paper. Pull down the manual hand feed tray which is located above the regular paper cassettes and place some legal size paper in it. Hopefully the fax will be outputted and the message will go away. Good luck.
It sounds as if the document feeder is not recognizing the proper size of paper. Try making a copy, is the copy correct or is the copier indicating to load a certain size of paper. The paper width guides as well as the raised tabs on the document feeder tell the copier the proper paper size. Could the problem be on the other end? I know I have several customers that have the paper size dials or indicators incorrect for the paper in their cassettes. This would be if only a single reciever of your fax is complaining. You may want to see if rotating the fax in the LTR-R direction works.
On most Bizhub Copiers if you have something stuck in memory that is tying up the machine you can turn it off and unplug it from the wall for 10-15 seconds and then turn it back on. Doing this will erase the Random Access Memory and should clear all fax and print jobs from the machine.
you must have the reduction mode on in the fax section. This allows incoming faxes that are larger than the size paper you have available to be printed. You may have you paper set in a direction or size paper that is not the same as the fax being sent.
DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP-BUT MY PROBLEM WAS SIMILAR--MINE WAS SAYING PAPER TOO NARROW WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PRINT AND COPY. I JUST KEPT MOVING THE FRONT SLIDER AND THE LEFT HAND SIDE SLIDERS BACK AND FORTH AND TOOK THE PAPER IN AND OUT --TRIED AGAIN AFTER EACH TIME--IT EVENTUALLY FIGURED OUT I DID HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE PAPER--
ALSO TRY---MENU--THEN--COPY SET-UP--THEN PAPER SIZE--SEE IF PAPER SIZE IS SET RIGHT.
You may have a fax in memory that requires a larger size. Try putting legal in the tray and see if it prints out anything. Also, look in the set up menu to see if there is an "auto reduction" mode. That will make any over sized incoming faxes automatically print out on the size paper you have in the tray.
