Multiple laptop issues

I answered another post of yours requesting help on this. However I see this request has some additional info or requests for help.

I think on this HP DV6000 you are running either Windows XP or Windows Vista, right?

If so, we might be able to change the password. Windows 7 would require a Password Reset Disk, but not Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Try the steps below to see if you can get into your computer.

OK, if you are running Windows 7, Microsoft tightenedsecurity on it so you've got to have a password reset disk which 99% of thepeople who own laptops with windows 7 fail to do. It should be one of thefirst things you do when you buy the laptop. Otherwise, you're faced withreinstalling the Operating System or possibly doing a System Recovery.

If you're on Windows XP or Vista try this:

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on andimmediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Safe Modeoption. Select SAFE MODE and let the computer boot up. When it getsto the User Login screen it will show the Administrator userid and the useridfor which you forgot the password. Sign in as the Administrator (hopefullyyou didn't put a password on it and forgot it too). Once the desktopappears it will look different, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, but this is normal for safe mode.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts
When the User Accounts screen opens, click on the userid for which you forgotthe password. Select the option to REMOVE PASSWORD.

Reboot your machine.

I cannot open my email and facebook

Hi there,
Please make sure that you are using the correct password or if someone has not changed you're password without your knowing.
Try to go to the e-mail logon screen and there should be a forgot password option where it will ask you for your credentials and once you've verified your identity it should let you reset that password for you.
Hope this helps!

My Toshiba U205 is asking for a password out of nowhere.

Here's the toshiba line on that, in case you haven't already seen it. I don't suppose you ever made a password reset disk, did you? Also helpful may be this page or these links.
You may have to contact Toshiba to find someone local who's authorised to get you there...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

BIOS PASSWORD

There is a trick to resetting the BIOS password , but it requires you to open the laptop and get to the motherboard. Now I don't know your level of expertise in that field , but laptops can be very trick to pull apart and put back together...so if you are not comfortable doing it , please take it to a professional as I don't want to see you damage your laptop!

Back to resetting the password......you need to access the motherboard of the laptop....on the motherboard is a small circular battery (it is flat and silver)..... that needs to be disconnected from the motherboard to reset all the BIOS information...depending on the model of the laptop , you may be able to completely remove the battery from the clip it is in , or you may need to disconnect the wire running from the batter to motherboard. Below I have put some example pictures to make it clear.

Removing That Battery:

Disconnecting The Cable:

After disconnecting it/removing it place it back in/reconnect it , put the laptop back together and boot up....the password will be reset! Below is a picture just in case you have trouble finding the battery

If this post helped you please leave a rating, it is well appreciated, thanks!
