Kenmore washing machine model 110:23032102 is retaining water after final spin . How do i clean out the drain or filter on this model ?
This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.
First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.23032102&pathTaken=partSearch
and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.
See the section for the basket and tub assembly's
I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.
See the following:

I'd check the hoses for blockage, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.
After the
wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to
rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as
to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin. check the output to the drain valve if absent the control board is a suspect, if not clean the drain pump;
Make sure
that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check
the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the
valve or motor or pump.

Hi
If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged
drain pump, drain filter or a kinked drain hose. Clean the drain hose, inspect
if the drain hose is plugged. Also check the connection to the drain pump and
make sure wiring is fine. Check the electrical connections with a multimeter.
If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.
