This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.23032102&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

I'd check the hoses for blockage, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.

Kenmore elite model 110.2808 does not drain and does not start to spin

After the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin. check the output to the drain valve if absent the control board is a suspect, if not clean the drain pump;

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Kenmore 80 series Model # 110.23832100\r\nthe washer fills up agitates, when finished washing it stops pauses a while then starts to spin, you can hear the water going out put it is like it can't pick up...

Hi

If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump, drain filter or a kinked drain hose. Clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. Also check the connection to the drain pump and make sure wiring is fine. Check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My kenmore top loading washing machine won't spin

Once you remove the cabinet, remove the water pump and check it for a garment or lint. Clean or replace the water pump and reinstall it.

As washer was on final spin cycle it sounded like a belt came....

it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Washer will not Spin during SPIN CYCLES

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. (consult your manual to know where/how filter is cleaned). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
