Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

1 Answer

My D-Link WBR=2310 router is always defaulting back to its internal date and time ( 1 April 2008) even after having captured the computer date-time and saving the settings. The new date appears for a while (less than an hr) but eventually reverts back. What causes this? I am afraid it may be cause me other problems. Rheal

How do you set the time on this EOL router? There doesn't seem to be anything except the time server, and the default date of 05 is way too far out to sync with.

1. go in the router configuration page set the time and date there.
The computer has nothing to do with the router time.

How I can reset my password for d link wbr 2310

How do I change the administrative password on my WBR series router? a_detail.jpg Step 1: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the router in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1). Press Enter.

Step 2: The username is admin and by default there isn&acutet a password (blank).

Step 3: Click the Tools tab and then click Admin to the left.

Step 4: Enter a new password in the Admin Password section.

Step 5: Click Save Settings.

D-Link suggests setting a user password to limit access to the device.

If you used the router Set-up CD you may have already set the password for the Admin.

Lost disk, password etc. to my D-Link Router..can I still use it

With the router powered on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset. Hold the paper clip down for 10 seconds and release. Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure. The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.
Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults. The factory default username is admin, and there is no password.

Wbr-2310 error 112

Check your physical connection first. From the modem, it should be connected to the router's Internet port, then your computer must be connected to port 1 on the back of the router. Then do a power cycle, no need to run the setup CD. If it doesn't work, you need to manually configure the router. You may need assistance from D-Link tech support. Call their toll free number

I have a D Link WBR 2310 router. I had it set up for wireless network on my home laptop. It was always configured for immediate access (no pwd required), secured with wpa. I try to connect with my work...

did you reset to factory defaults or just unplug the router?  If you hit the reset button, you'll have to go in and set everything back up.   Have you tried to connect via webbrowser connected to the router from your home computer?  go to 192.168.0.1 and see if you can connect to the router to see what's going on.

WBR 2310 Reset Switch

Try this...
--Uninstall the d-link wizard software from your computer...if it actually installed.
--Shut down the computer and router...make sure they're connected together with the ethernet cable
--Turn on the router first.
--Turn on the computer
--Wait about 2 minutes after the computer starts up
--Go to the command prompt and type in the command "ipconfig". This will give you the computers ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway. To get to the command prompt, click on Start -- Run -- and then type "cmd" and click "Ok"
--The default gateway address should be the address of your router...typically it would be 192.168.0.1...but this will tell you if it's something else.
--If the ip address listed after the ipconfig command is blank or begins with 169.... then your computer is probably not talking to the router...the router or network cable may be defective.
--If the default gateway address is something other than 192.168.0.1 ...try that address in Internet Explorer to see if the router will respond properly. If the router responds, you can configure it directly without using the wizard software. Your D-link documentation (on disc?) will guide you through the manual setup procedure...sometimes referred to as the "alternative" procedure.
--Good luck...and I hope this helps!
