Question about Microsoft Windows 98 for PC
First of all try the link below for a free clean up and Tuneup from microsoft.
Please note this may not correct all the issues. Windows registry can get cluttered with unwanted registry entries leading to a slower machine and then leading to regular BSOD.
If BSOD is still a regular occurrence, it is best to reinstall your operating system, provided you have all the driver CD's and you have all the important data on your computer backed up. Regarding XP or Windows 7, the decision should depend mostly on the memory capacity. If you have a reasonably good processor, about 2GB of memory (1GB work but sluggish) and if you are willing to purchase a new OS, then Windows 7 will give you a better experience. However, note that some peripherals/add on cards may have difficulty in working if you are unable to get the correct drivers.
