There seems to be a logic circuit on the main board that is defective or voltage regulator at an IC that is not keeping the voltage steady and therefore when the input is enabled the circuit cuts or shorts the connection. You will need to have the unit serviced to tell where the specific components are.

I have a tevion lcd4203 42inch that wont turn on the standby button just flashes

So what is your TV: LG 42LC2D or LCD4203?

I'd check the exact model on the back if I were you.

In LCD TVs this could be caused by either bad power board or bad main board.

In plasma TVs this can be caused by other boards as well.

If it's an LCD the first step is to verify the power board.

if it's a plasma it's usually to start eliminating other boards by disconnecting them from power to see whether and when will the auto-shutting (the blinking LED) disappear.

Probably the easiest thing to do is to send the power board to someone who knows how to test it independantly.

If you want to do that feel free to contact us or just find a local provider.

Press the "TV/AV/PC" button to display the choice of input sources, move to the required choice (SCART in your case) using the channel up/down buttons, then press the volume + or - button to selectyour choice.

Lg 42' lcd cant get video signal i can get sound and menu pictures all come up. but no output from cable or ps3

I guess your either using the scart socket or the HDMI socket. You have gone into the menu and changed your input source to either HDMI or Scart havent you? Does your TV aerial input work when switched to Antenna on the input source menu. If these dont happen then you have a faulty main pcb.

Video output from tv to recorder

You can buy Scart connectors that work either solely as an out put, where you can buy some that are solely an input, look for the type of Scrat with a small switch on it, normally means that it is input/output switchable, it may also depend on the tv's scart plug. if the tv says out put or input then you may encounter a problem.

It works fine if you plug the surround system SCART lead into the AV2 input. I believe this is a 'smart' scart plug (same as SONY but it is not mentioned as in the literature). The AV1 is only good for inputs NOT outputs as well.

Some dvd players do not have the switching line fro your tv to automatically select scart input but you will be able to select via the tv remote if there are no buttons marked av it can be an oblong with an arrow pointing inwards or you may have to select via the source menu on the tv if you have your original handbook it will give a helpline number for Asda.SUPER8.
