Streaky Laser Printer Toner Cartridges

I've posted this question here because I think there might be electonics element or some people here might have repaired a laser printer with this problem. Lately I seem to be pestered with streaky printing from laser printers. A mate brought in a HP4M that was streaky on any toner cartridge used in it, but the cartridges performed well in another HP4M. So, I took the machine apart and gave it a good vacuum out (clean up) and wiggle of cables and that improved things because the streaks now took 20 pages to appear, instead of 4 pages. I was also investigating whether there might be a few capacitors that could be replaced to see if they were playing a part. There were three electro caps on three different boards and that was it. Now the disease has spread to my HP5si (don't put sick printers near good printers). Does anyone have any ideas based on experience? I'm getting an almost solid black one inch wide streak down the middle of my printout and a similar but less dark streak down the rh side too. I don't have any operating instructions so I'm at a loss to know what to do about it. Any advice welcomed. (The cartridge is almost new).

I have a inch-wide streak down the right hand side of every page printed. It even makes a funky noise when it prints now, as if there is a scrap of paper stuck inside. I have used the "clean" utility on the menu of the printer itself, but the problem does not go away. If I knew how to take it apart and see what kind of "roller" was inside that might need physical cleaning, I'd be tempted to try, because that is what all my intuition tells me needs to be done. The closest person willing to even look at it is at least an hour away and wants $20 just to have me tell him the problem (that mau be a slight exageration). I wish I new a teenager who had been taking things like this apart for 10 years because I feel sure it's something that could be cleared up in no time. PLEASE OFFER SUGGESTIONS!
    Thanks, Minge Pointer

How do I load ink and toner in hp laserjet 1100

By load the toner, if you mean inserting the toner cartridge. Then i will give you instructions. In laser toner printer, there is toner cartridge, and not ink jet cartridge. In laser toner cartridges, there is a black color toner power and it does have any liquid ink, which ink jet cartridges have.To remove the laser toner cartridge from hp laser jet 1100 printer, its simple. The front door open and old toner cartridge comes out.Just pull the front door towards you. While inserting cartridge. If you have problem, then take note that, sticker side of the cartridge is towards you.On the cartridge there is a rectangle flap, which you hold in your hand. This is meant for holding the cartridge, while removing and inserting cartridge. The stick side will be in your side. There is a green color drum, the drum side will be on opposite site.-------------- Still any problem.Keep updated. But i think that will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How do I change the ink cartridge?

Hello.

This printer is a laser jet printer - so you will be changing the multiple toner cartridges, not ink cartridges.

Page 56 starts the steps on how to replace the toner cartridges.

ftp://ftp.minolta-qms.com/pub/cts/out_going/manuals/2300dl/eg_user.pdf

The front of the printer opens to the right and exposes the toner cartridges for removal.

Refill not recommended. Replacement is the way to go. You can pickup replacement toner cartridges from you local electonics store or where you purchased from.

Copies are coming out streaky

Defective toner. And a cartridge is only good for about 2000 pages - not 10,000.

Xerox XC1020 White Bands running across copied page 4" apart

The metering blades in those cartridges go bad and do not allow the ink to get to the page. Look at the front of the toner cartridge, is should be a solid consistent black all the way across, if its streaky, not consistent all the way across replace the toner.
The other problem could be a dirty laser. If replacing the toner doesnt work let me know, I will tell you how to remove and clean the laser.

CLP 300 toner cartridges don't have a chip

New Models of Samsung Laser printers come pre-packed with Cartridges that have no chips but an empty space where the chip should be. These chipless cartridges do not need to have a chip because the printer is pre-programmed to run for one cycle. These pre-packed cartridges can also be refilled in the same way but will need a reset chip.
Buy new chips from:

Julie1665, Here are some things that could be causing your problem: -Could be the paper you are printing does not meet the printer specifications. -Could be toner leaking out of the cartridge. -Could be environmental issues, too hot or cold or humid. -The toner density could be set too high. -The electrical contacts that connect the toner cartridge to the printer could be dirty or just not making good contact. -the printer power supply could be defective. -With regards to your toner cartridge are you using new IBM cartridges or refilled/remanufactured? I?ve had many customers call me to fix a printer problem that turned out to be a bad cartridge. All of these are within the capabilities of the typical user except changing the power supply. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
