Music cds should play, but if you made a copy of the cd, it may be the wrong kind of disk

How to Rip Wii Backups: VIDEO GUIDE HERE>>>
Making backups of your Nintendo Wii games is a great investment that will likely save you some money. You will need a Wii running Homebrew to rip and then play your Wii backups. So, before attempting the actual backup get the Homebrew channel up and running. Having a Homebrew-capable Wii means that your console is able to play user created programs and games that are not Nintendo signed. This is legal, but cannot be taught here for copyright reasons (see Resources for more information).

Step 1 Turn on your Nintendo Wii and allow it to boot into your Wii dashboard. Insert your external hard drive into an open USB slot or insert your Wii SD card. Use the Wiimote to select the "Homebrew" channel and you will be shown the available Homebrew programs.
  • Step 2 Select "DVD Dumper" from the Homebrew channel. Press the "A" button to verify that you want to backup the game to your external hard drive or SD card. Press the right directional pad button until the screen says "Wii Single-Layer Disc" and press the "A" button.
  • Step 3 Insert your Wii game into the optical drive. Your Wii will read the disc and will ask you to press the "A" button to begin the rip. Press the "A" button and your Wii game will be placed onto the external hard drive or SD card.
  • Step 4 Wait as the process completes. DVD Dumper will tell you when the process is complete and you can exit the program. You can now use your Wii backups to play games from your external hard drive or SD card. You will need a program like "USBLoader" to play these backups (see Resources).

    hey there carlton

This problem is very common with the WII but don't worry there are many websites out there that can help with this problem.

I personally reccommend this one as it has been very successful for me and many others.

I know this can help your situation

Is there anything you can do if your wii is not reading your cd's?

If it doesn't read any cds, you could try asking Nintendo to repair it. I don't know how much that costs.

if you are smart, you read instructions thoroughly and you are willing to risk your wii to a small possibility of bricking you could try and softmodding your wii to play backup games through your external hard drive or sd card.

but i don't recommend it unless you are willing to put a lot of time and research into softmodding your wii.

    Good luck

How can I play cds and dvds on my wii

You can't. The Wii does not play CDs or DVDs.

The only way to do this is to install custom firmware onto the Wii, but this could kill the entire Wii if you're not careful.

The screen hangs up for a sec or two when i play my guitar hero (wii), kinda frustrating, tried other games and it hangs up there aswhell...

The only way I've ever known that the game would hang, was that the driver doesn't read the Disk due to high, low burn rate . So if you use backup Cds that might be the cause

I upgraded my wii to 4.0 and installed the homebrew channel.Everything seemed to work great,so I tried to play guitar hero 3 the game shows up in disc channel but when you click start the screen goes black...

You might want to try a Loader instead of the Wii's disc channel. Are you playing original games or backups? You might have broke the Homebrew channel with the 4.0 upgrade. Check out this Wii homebrew set of tutorials to see if it'll help
