Unfortunately the printer is out of time or the selector pawls got bent. would be cheaper to buy a new one than fix this.

How do you change ink on a canon p20-dh calculator

For accounting offices and stores, calculators that produce a printed paper are indispensable. Canon's desktop or commercial printing calculators use ribbon tape, and you'll need to change the ribbon when it is used up. All Canon desktop and commercial printing calculators use the same method for changing the ribbon.
  • Turn off the calculator.
  • Pull up on the tab on the far side of the printer cover to remove the cover.
  • Pinch together the ribbon lock (the arrow shows you the direction to pinch). Lift the ribbon spools off the shafts and discard them.
  • Separate the new ribbon spools. Guide the ribbon tape around the four guiding pegs and set the spools on the shafts. The spools should be peg side down.
  • Rotate the spools so the peg at the bottom of the spool goes into the hole of the spool holder. Release the ribbon locks.
  • Rotate the spools to make the ribbon taut, keeping the ribbon positioned around the guide pegs.
  • Replace the printer cover and turn the calculator on.

Why does my Canon MP49D calculator print light?

Could it be you are using old ribbons? Are you using the correct ribbons?
did you put in the ribbon correct and is the ribbon transported, while it is printing, or is it stuck in the calculator. Just some questions to check out.

Can't find a manual online. What does 5/4 mean, and how do I turn it off? Same for E. My biggest problem is that when I add up numbers with the print function on (for depositing large batches of...

The manual for the Canon P1-DHV is online at http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/calculator/P1-DHV_G_USA_HWB.pdf>.
When the display shows "5/4", the calculator is doing 5/4 rounding which means: 5 or above round up, 4 or below round down. To control rounding press the "5/4" key.
When the display shows "E" the calculator could not complete a calculation. It can be because of dividing by 0, or because the total exceeded 1 trillion, or because the operator entered calculations faster than the calculator could complete them. Press the CI/C key to clear it.
I can't explain why you are not getting a total on the tape. Try the following example from the manual exactly as shown, and let me know if your tape shows the total.
  1. Clear the calculator (press [CI/C])
  2. Choose 5/4 rounding (press [5/4] until "5/4" displays)
  3. Choose add mode (press [DEC] until "A" displays)
  4. Choose cost-sell-margin mode (press [B-T] until "B" displays)
  5. Turn printer on (press [PRINT] until "PRINT" displays)
  6. To calculate: $12.55 + $15.75 - $5.30
  7. Key in: 1255 [+] 1575 [-] 530 [=]
  8. Tape shows: [0. C] ... [12.55 +] ... [15.75 -] ... [5.30 =] ... [23.00 *]

I have a TA Adler-Royal 1123 PD nova printing calculator. (It is very old.) The numbers printed on the tape are very faint. Do I need a new ribbon or something else? Is there such a thing as an ink...

Hi,
You need a new ribbon.
Older or much older desk top calculators used a small sized ribbon such as the old typewriters used except that the reels were about 1 inch across. Often they were divided into a red and black side.
It the calculator had all of the numbers strike the paper at the same instant, then it would use an
ribbon.
Here is a link to an Amazon.com page that sells the correct ribbon for your calculator.

I keep getting the wrong answers on my trig with the TI-84 when doing radians and angles. I put in sin( 3.06/5.17) and got .010 when the answer is 36.29 help.

Hi,
Your result is clearly incorrect in view of the fact that the sine function ranges from -1 to 1. So it cannot be 36.29. For a moment I thought that maybe you wanted to calculate the arcsine but the results are not even close.
Here is a screen capture that shows you the correct results. You can see that I was right in assuming you were calculating the arcsine but not in radians. You are calculating it in degrees.
8da9901.jpg

On the second line I calculated the arcsine of 3.06/5.17. Look at the top of the screen and you will see RAD. Thus the arcsine is in Radians. I multiplied it by 180/pi to convert the result to degrees, which apparently is what you want to obtain.
Here is what I suggest to you. Press [MODE]. Use the arrow to scroll to the third line, highlight Degree and press [ENTER]. Press [2nd][QUIT] to go to main calculator screen.

If your angles are in degrees, you should be working with degree as the angle unit, especially if you are calculating the inverse trigonometric functions.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

I replaced the roll of paper and now it will not

The Casio DR-T220 does not use regular adding machine tape, it requires a thermal tape since it is a thermal printer. There is no ink or ink ribbon in this caculator, it is heat activated and it is the special paper that make the numbers appear. Thermal tape is available at all office supply stores.

Ma error appears in stat menu with casio cfx-9850gb plus

Hello,
Here are the possible causes for such an error
1. calculation results exceeds calculation range.
2. Calculation is outside the input range of a function
3. Illogical operation (division by zero, etc.
4. Poor precision in sigma calculation results,

For all these reasons
Check the input numeric values and correct them . If you are using memory, check that the numeric values stored in memory are correct.

Hope it helps

My ti-83 has a weird display problem. I updated os versiyon but still it has got weird display. what can I do?

There maybe electrical shorts connecting the two motherboards, logic part and screen display part, or within the screen display part, causing the weird display when the calculator appears otherwise functional. Open the TI 83+ case following the U Of Washington posting on fixing TI 83+ problem on inability to communicate with TI link cable between calculator and computer. I used the plastic tools in an IPod battery replacement set to open the TI 83+ case as plastic tools will cause less damage to the TI case. Under the aluminun foil are the two motherboards, each a work of beauty. Good work TI. Connecting the two motherboards is a adhesive enbedded connectors sheet. Above that adhesive connector sheet was a different adhesive connectors sheet in the screen display part, which in my case, some of connectors were exposed. I wiped that adhesive connector sheet and the weird display disappeared with calculator functioning. I may buy some heat resistant clear adhesive tape to put over the exposed connectors part for insulation if problem occurs again. The above may or may not be helpful.
