Too bad people can't read the question.
I also am trying to figure out how to adjust the tilt. Don't want to force it too much...

Of course...just press the square sign button and it will get to a menu operable with the arrows..the ok option is on the menu button too...
also take a good look cause it might have auto-adjust button and all your problems will be over ..
If you problem is black spaces on the sides..change first the resolution from the driver settings(video card driver) cause if it is a 19 inch or larger ..some settings in resolution will make it display black bands on sides..

How do I adjust the tilt function. It seems it is stuck

Tilting on most Monitors is designed to require some force to prevent it from slipping.
Gently yet firmly hold down the base of the monitor on the desk with one hand. Then place a second hand on the bottom of the screen and pull it towards you using even pressure. It will slowly move.
Please also keep in mind that your monitor may not be able to tilt much. If you need it to tilt further, you can buy an alternative stand for it.

How do I adjust the screen tilt and height? HELP!!!!!!

Hi, Here is what I was able to find out about your monitor from ViewSonic. There is no manual available on their website.
I have two ViewSonic monitors that are very similar to the one you have.
Here is what I can tell you. The monitor, although it does not seem like it can, be tilted front to back.
If you grip the monitor screen on the side edges (left and right) and 1/3rd the way up and twist it either away or toward you, it should tilt. It is a little stiff, just go ahead and tilt it. As far as adjusting the high. That, I'm sorry to say cannot be done.
I hope this helps you.
Best Regards,
Mark

Acer Mointor

Hi, I'd like to ask for the model number. There are many to choose from and each manufacturer has different stands. (FYI, my Dell that I'm looking at has a very limited tilt back. Save the tilt for reducing the glare Ergonomically, the best thing is to have the monitor high enough vertically so that little or no tilt is needed. If you have to turn your head down to read it, you may feel neck ache after a few hours and days and.... Ugly but useful is the option of the obsolete phone book under the stand. If you want others to keep guessing, wrap it up in gift paper before placing it there! LOL!

My monitor won't stay in any "locked" position. It is either tilted too far forward or tilted too far back and is hard to view in either position. Can I adjust in any way?

You have broken pins in the spring loaded stand, the pins are made of plastic, this very cheaply made stand from HP. You need to get new stand.

Screen position adjustment

To optimize the viewing position, you can adjust the monitor tilt by using
both of your hands to hold the edges of the monitor.
The monitor can be adjusted to 15 degrees up or 5 degrees down.

Our viewsonic monitor tilts forward. how do we tilt it back?

Hello again.
The ViewSonic VG1930wm has a height adjustment range of 3.2", TILT capabilities, and a swivel range of 360 degrees.
So yes your monitor should be able to tilt back and forth.  Most likely if you hold the base of the monitor, and press somewhere on the front at the top or bottom (do not press on the screen itself) then it should easily tilt back and forth.  Occassionally there is a switch you may have to hold while you push on the front-top/bottom of the monitor which acts as a lock for the tilt angle.
Hope that helps, and don't forget to vote/rate!
Height adjustment range 3.2", tilt, swivel range 360º

X2gen MG19E monitor

The only way to adjust the tilt on these monitors is to loosen the screws that attach the stand to the monitor. We had to completely remove the stand from the monitor to get to these stand screws.

Screen tiled and i can't move it back

Try reseting the settings to factory defauts in the monitors user menu. You can get more details from the manual on this.

If reseting the settings doesnt work. Could you take a photo so we would have a better understanding of the problem :-)

Or do you mean the screen is fysically tilted? If parts are broken and you are unable to move the screen, then I cant offer much help, you could contact acer for support or to take it to a local pc shop for analysis.

HP f1905e tilt and Height adjustment

I figured it out! Just takes a phillips screwdriver and a 5/16" open end wrench to tighten up some nuts inside the plastic housing. The plastic housing doesn't come off with the screws, but has to be slightly pryed up to release the little plastic catches. Be careful though, you don't want to break the plastic tabs. It's ok to break maybe 1 because there are several to take up the slack. At first I thought it was the nuts that are 1/2" (there are two that are close to 2 springs. But that was just for the tilt forward and backward. Actually there are 4 nuts (5/16") that need to be tightened. Don't over tighten or it will not tilt at all. I took photos of the disassembled base. If you have skype, then skype me at "golfbob" chino hills, and I can send the pics or talk you through it. Good luck.
