Question about KitchenAid Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

KitchenAid kemc308kss0 Micro/Oven Combo Microwave: At the end of any cycle there is a four-tone beep that will continue to beep until KINGDOM COME until you either a. open the door b. press cancel. That is not a feature, it is an annoyance that makes me want to blow my brains out. If I heated up a cup of coffee, forgot about it in the microwave, went to disney for a 2 week vacation, that ****** would have been beeping 4-times every minute, for 14 days and would keep on beeping if I did not interact with it. The inclusion of this ''feature'' is asinine. The worst thing that can happen is your food/drink gets cold again. Nothing's going to boil over or explode or kill anyone cause you didn't interact with it. Even my cell phone will stop beeping at somepoint if my lazy *** doesn't get up after the first 18 snoozes. Anyway, KitchenAid kemc308kss0 Micro/Oven Combo Have been though the user, service, and internal manual (all seems to be the same one). I called support, they said there's no way to disable the four-tone cycle complete message. I know some leet appliance repairperson knows some kind of code combo to turn that four-tone nightmare off. Thanks, b0rg

From page 7 of your owner's manual:

All Tones (combination oven models only)

All of the above tones are preset on, but can be turned off.
To Turn Off/On: Touch and hold STOP TIME for 5 seconds. A
tone will sound and “Snd oFF” will appear on the lower oven
display for 3 seconds. Repeat to change back to “Snd on.”

Tone Volume

The volume is preset at high, but can be changed to low.

To Change: Touch and hold the number pad “7” for 5 seconds. A
tone will sound and “Snd Lo” will appear on the lower oven
display for 3 seconds. Repeat to change back to “Snd HI.”

REMINDER TONES

The Timer and Timed Cooking reminder tones are preset on, but
can be turned off. Reminder tones do not include end-of-cycle
tones. On combination oven models, if “All Tones” have been
turned off, the reminder tones cannot be independently turned
on.

Timer

To Turn Tones Off/On: Touch and hold TIMER SET • START until
a tone sounds. Repeat to turn back on.

Timed Cooking (combination oven models only)

To Turn Tones Off/On: Touch and hold COOK TIME until a tone
sounds and the lower oven display returns to inactive mode
(blank). Repeat to turn back on.

Can you remove the microwave separately without removing the complete oven/microwave unit? KEMS307DWH4 KitchenAid Wall Oven/Microwave combo unit

Hello Richard;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service technician.

Your microwave is in a separate housing than your oven. You need to remove the border stripping holding the micro wave in the wall, then lift up in the front and pull out.

Go into the following website, put in your model number which is on a label after you open the microwave door.

You did not tell me what the problem is. Please advise so I can help you further.

My Sylvania micro/convec oven was installed in my RV last year but has never worked correctly. It runs long after the beeping ends and the glass sometimes gets a rainbow haze across the glass. Is this...

With this oven being a combi ventilation and extraction is important, the haze across the plate is
surplus heat, It not cooking but what you hear is the extraction fan running until the oven cavity has cooled down

Sounds like you should get estimates and turn in on homeowners insurance. Power surges are very destructive and you have lost the control board at least and maybe some switches. Eric

GE Over-The-Range JVM1653BD Error code -FS-

"F5: Shorted humidity sensor, will occur if humidity sensor is detected as being shorted continuously over 5 seconds."

It may be excessive moisture on the sensor, or it may short from time to time internally, then "unshort" when it cools or dries.

Until it fails consistently, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

If and when you or someone you know want to check and/or replace it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Kitchenaid microwave oven KBMC140HSO

I started having the same problem with my KBMC140HSSO. You cannot see the error codes without disassembling the control panel (the codes are on another display that covered by the front panel). After doing so I found the error code to be F2, E3 which is "Key held down too long, or key shorted". I am ordering a replacement keypad and will report back if this fixes the problem.
