Question about Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 (U01E200) 200 GB Hard Drive
Maxtor manufacturer says that this drive is not ready for windows 7 and no driver had been issued. you will have to connect it to another computer to recover the data, or to use another computer in your network to access it and share the resource with your pc with windows 7

To solve the above problem i.e make the Maxtor device work with Windows 7, please follow the instructions below. It worked for me without no problems ;)
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate down the hierarchy to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository and look for one or two folders with the name usbstor.inf_xxxxxxxx. Open the folder with the latest (newest) date.
2. Open another instance of Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\inf.
3. Place the windows side by side.
4. Go to the first window (1 above) and copy both the usbstor.inf and usbstor.PNF files to the second window's folder (C:\Windows\inf).
