Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

Chronotherm III displays 32 deg for room temp, which is really around 70 deg. No action called for by the instrument. Batteries had died and replaced. My first guess was the actual temp sensor was actually bad. If the sensor is located in the base, perhaps some of the contacts were 'making'. 32 deg is displayed whether or not the removable part is on the base or not.

My chronotherm III repeated flashes replace batteries after I've replaced them

Did you make sure the batteries are brand new? Batteries that has been sitting around and then used may not be powerful enough. They lose power over time. Get fresh batteries and try again and make sure that you have put the batteries in the right direction as listed in or around the battery holders. Good Luck! (note: it just might be possible that if you put the batteries in the wrong way, it messes it up. But this is rare to happen.) Check your manual if you have it.

I have some problem with our machine scotsman mv450 is to long product ice very slowly

Min freeze time 6 minutes and max freeze time 45 minutes. the 6 minutes is with perfect conditions. Example: Cycle time water temp was 50 degrees coming in to the water sump tray from water supply and the Ambient air temp surrounding the machine was a constant 70 deg than the machine should make ice every 10 - 12 minutes.now we know that the water temp from the water source is not going to be 50 deg and room temp will not be 70 deg all the time so the warmer water temp and ambient air temp is the longer it takes to make ice. one thing you wont to check is the water inlet valve to make sure it is not letting water seep through causing water temp not to cool down from running across evap plates. make sure the condenser coil is clean this will slow down production of ice.

My honeywell chronotherm III says -AC any ideas

The problem is your 24v power source. I am unsure as to why you put "other than power source or batteries". If you did indeed check that your thermostat is receiving 24v, then I would say that you have a bad thermostat. Hope this helps

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm III Thermostat and in instead of showing the temparature in the display it shows -AC. I've replaced the batteries, and tryied adjusting Temp up and down for cooling and...

It would appear to me that you have lost the 24 volt power supply to the thermostat. In referencing the manuals for this thermostat, available @ www.honeywell.com, I've found that when the thermostat is not connected to the wall plate (plate mounted on the wall, that the thermostat either snaps or screws into), it will display the -AC. This being said, either the thermostat is loose on the wall currently, or your 24 volt transformer has died. Hope this helps.

-AC appears in the display of chronotherm III

I have had the same problem- twice. It was a similar but different problem each time. The -AC means the ac control voltage isnt making it to the thermostat. In my case both times it was a switch in the control circuit that wasn't closing properly. The easiest was the front cover switch. If the front cover is removed from the furnace or has vibrated loose, the switch will open, preventing the furnace from running. The other instance I ran into was a flow switch on the exhaust blower which ensures the there is flow OUT the chimney. The switch wasn't functioning, so the furnace wouldn't start. The blower would come on for a short time, but the burners wouldn't light.

Hope this helps,
