BSOD can be hardware & software error. Since you are only booting to a CD, it can't be software. I haven't encountered BSOD as a result of booting to a CD.

Power off the machine and unplug from the power outlet. Remove all expansion cards and memory modules. Clean the contacts of the cards and memory modules with pencil eraser and wipe with clean-dry-cloth.

Insert the memory module and video card (if not built-in) then power on the machine and boot to CD. If successful, re-insert other expansion cards one by one to isolate the source of BSOD. Don't forget to power off and unplug the PC each time.

If you are installing to HD and you still get BSOD, try to change your HD and memory modules.

R3000 Compacq laptop wont boot up

Hi.
Can you please give me full details on what the problem is, the BSOD, does it appear after the boot is finished and loading the OS?
Does the OS start and then get the BSOD, ETC.
If You have the original install cd, enter your bios and at BOOT DEVICES [OR BOOT SETTINGS] make sure that the first device to boot from is your cd/dvd etc, Put The Cd of the OS in the cd/rom and restart the machine, it will hopefully start the instalation of windows do not tell the program to install a fresh copy, but rather use the R for repair.
If that does not work or you still have problems it sounds like it's time for a new instal of windows, the BSOD [Blue Screen Of Death] pops up when files get damaged, if you overclock without checking everything voltages, fans, TEMPERATURE of CPU etc.
Also can you please tell me how long ago the system was activated, and what if anything did you do or were working on when you got this BSOD.
What the OS you are using is can help also, and is it sp1? sp2? sp3? for win XP even vista is up to SP1 already for a supposed new os from ms.

Cloud storage and file storage - DataAlign In vanilla terms, a backup or the process of backing up, refers to the copying and archiving of computer data so it may be used to restore the original after a data loss event. Backups have two distinct purposes. The primary purpose is to recover data after its loss, be it by data deletion or corruption. The simplest definition of a computer backup is an exact copy. In the case of computer files, we are referring to copies of the original files that you have on your laptop, desktop, or external drive. Creating a backup of original content means having that data saved in two places, but it's also important to make sure that those two places aren't on the same type of device. For example, if you have 3 copies of a working document on your computer, if your computer crashes, you will still lose all three. This makes the backup method and medium, an important thing to consider for your backup strategy. With the kind of Online Cloud Backup technology being used these days, it is extremely important to back up your files. Ideally, we store data files, movies, music, photos and our official documents on the computer. With the ever-changing technology, desktops and laptops have reduced in cost, and the quantum of storage inside them has surged considerably over the last few years. Unfortunately, storing all your data in only one place is risky. Accidental deletion, theft, computer loss, natural disaster is just some of the reasons that could cost you heavily as you stand out the chance to lose the data you've spent so long generating and collecting.
