Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Not printing correctly, espcially magenta and black

I have replaced all my printer ink jets and I have run all of the cleaning maintenance tools, but my magenta ink is not printing at all and my PGBK is printing with large blank spaces.

I had a similar problem on a slightly different printer but I spent over 6 hours collectively with both online and phone support being asked to re-run the same tests over and over. I replaced the ink the print heads multiple times; I ran all the maintenance tools; and still had the same problem.

Then they asked me to run the auto-alignment, and I noticed that no matter how many times I ran it the paper still have those large blank spaces, like lines across the page.Turned out that the printer was unable to align the print heads properly. I had to essentially replace the printer because it was an integrated component that was failing.

I transferred the trays, ink, print heads, jet direct card, etc into the new chassis...everything worked like a dream.

Brother MFC-290c printer does not print black anymore. Test print page color ok but not black printing. What is the problem?

The problem is either:

* out of BLACK ink -- replace the ink-cartridge

* clogged ink-jets -- the ink is not spraying onto the paper, so run a few print-head-cleaning cycles

* dead electronics -- not triggering the jets to spray ink, so replace the printer

Two problems: 1) I have had to replace the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks many different times and it seems like very often too, but I have NEVER had to replace the light cyan or light magenta...

If your documents look good when they are printed then the printer is working just fine and you dont have to be concerned about the ink use.

If the printer was not using the other cartridges correctly, then you would see areas that were missing color or were the wrong color when you tried to print. If the ink on a cartridge was not flowing freely the printer would stop printing and display error codes until the problem was corrected.

Being these things are not happening, I think it is safe to assume that it is working properly.

To correct the problem with the black line on the side, try cleaning your print heads and using the maintenance features on your printer. To access these features find the "menu" button on the printer and push it. Then scroll the features displayed by using the arrow keys on the printer until you see "maintenance". Then push the "ok" or "enter" button on the printer and continue using the arrow keys to find the cleaning options for print heads. Follow the instructions for cleaning the print heads and repeat the process a second time for good measures.

Regular maintenance of the printer should eliminate the black line problem and provide better printing results.

The cyan and magenta colors are not showing when I print

Either:
* ink-cartridges are empty, and need to be replaced
* ink-jets are "clogged", and you need to run a "print-head-cleaning" cycle via the HP Printer Assistant software tools.

Black ink will not print text

maybe the ink jet cartridge is depleted. This is common on all ink jet printers.
Or, the ink jet cartridge has tape on the head.

Hi. No magenta or cyan printing on my canon pixma 750. used the maintenance cleaning function and head refreshing to no avail. Any ideas, thanks Mark

Sounds like the ink jet cartridges need to be replaced. Cleaning will not solve the problem after the ink is depleted, and if the ink were low, the cleaning process uses up a lot of ink.

Good luck on replacing the ink jet cartridges.

Print Quality Problem

Hi jepeto997:
Try these steps.

paper, or debris found in the printers exit
path.
2. Did this correct the problem?
Complete. Go to Step 2.
2 1. Clean the maintenance kit wiper blade or
replace the maintenance kit.

Complete. Go to Step 3.
3 1. Check the exit area, exit frame, the

printhead (including the paper release blade)
to see if there is anything touching the drum

2. Reseat any printer component interfering or
touching the drum assembly.
If there are streaks on the front side only of a

ink off the print.
2. Look for ink shavings along the streaks on
the printed paper.
3. Clean the preheater using the Control Panel
Remove Print Smears function.
4. Did this correct the problem?

7 1. The X-axis drive is not functioning correctly.
If the X-Axis Drive does not move the

printing, vertical lines appear on the print.
For information about X-Axis Drive
problems, see "White Stripes (Pinstripes)"
on page 5-30.

Magenta not working when printing colors

try to wipe it in a wet cloth to remove the clogs on the nozzle that avoid it from jetting...load again your catridge on the carrier or cartridge holder....
and run maintenance page on it ...go to your printer panel and select maintenance and then select clean printhead..to print a maintenance page..or maybe your magenta has have a low ink condition..

Canon pixma ip4000 color not printing correctly with full inks

In both cases be sure using correct ink. Use of generic ink can lead to leakage of catrridge seats do to crossion from inferrior ink quality (per Cannon). Be sure ink in proper locations - see manual. Run the maintenance proceedures: cleaning then print nozzle pattern. If all colors are not proper after two or three cleanings, perform deep cleaning. Print nozzle pattern after each cleaning. This should clear up problem. If not, print head may need replacement.
