Question about Samsung Digimax L60 Digital Camera

Camera overexposes on daylight and recorded images have hoizontal striping

Suddenly, while using camera it started to totally overexpose recorded images, even though real time mode looks ok. images with flash not overexposed; but all recorded images show horizontal striping...approximately 18 stripes per image. Note: striping not so obvious in low resolution image attached. Daylight images are total wash-out, with same striping.

I also have this problem, minus the horizontal stripes. My L60 massively overexposes when the shot is taken but it looks fine on the LCD before it's taken. With the flash, indoors, everything looks ok.

Oh, and on movie mode it captures perfectly as well as previewing correctly...

Most of my images have horizontal striping - I'm seriously considering returning the camera and getting a different one! I can take two photos of the same subject, within a few seconds so nothing has changed, and one will be striped (if not both). It ruined the photos I took at my Son's birthday trip. I have tried every setting and every position - tripod/hand held etc but cannot discover what causes it. I just know it's getting worse.

Afraid I tried that already, I have tried everything. It's certainly a mechanical fault.

Luckily I found I have a two year guarantee and it was bought 25/06/06 so I'm just in time to send it off! Found the documents two days ago. Phew...

I would take it off of automatic mode and adjust it manually.

The Samsung camera I have doesn't work very well in automatic mode under indoor conditions. It will work in automatic under outdoor conditions.

Hope that helps.

With horizontal striping going on, it could be that the CCD unit has gone bad in the unit. It should be returned to Samsung.

Camera makes overexposed pictures wiht lines can this be a software problem ?

Nope, this is a hardware problem and the camera needs to be worked on. Notice how your display works fine but the finished product exhibits the anomaly. The recording end is messed up.

Stripe appeared when taking picutre with SAMSUNG L730

The shutter is jammed open - in picture mode it overexposes and gives the white stripes, in video the shutter stays open and the camera sets the expsoyre, so appears OK. New lens unit will be required.

No photo in daylight in outdoor

You'll need to first check what setting you have the camera on. Sometimes, this can make all the difference. Change the setting to auto. Or, if you are familiar with manual settings, change the camera mode to manual...then change the ISO

On record picture smeared like massively over exposed

Make sure the ISO is set on the correct exposure for daylight.. try say 100 or 200 if its set for flash at say 60 nor 30 and you try to use it in brighter or daylight it will overexpose.

This is a defective CCD problem known to Sony. They'll pay for shipping and repair it free of charge. Go here for details: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html
