First of all you shall charge your mobile for a minimum of 12 hrs as it has came brand new and the battery must be charged otherwise it can drain to death. Here is the link for your mobile's user manual It tells you everything about your black berry.

    Instructions

    1. Step 1

      Make
sure the battery is correctly in place and charged. Often, a user is
unable to turn on her BlackBerry phone because the battery is either
incorrectly placed or the phone is out of charge. Verify that the
battery is correctly placed by removing the battery, and then placing
the battery back in the BlackBerry so that the metal lines on the
battery line up with the metal lines in the phone. When the battery is
in correctly, plug in the charger and allow the phone to charge for at
least an hour before attempting to turn it on again.

    2. Press the button with the red phone on it. This is commonly known as
the "disconnect call" button, and is located on the upper right-hand
side. Hold the button down for several seconds, and the phone will turn
      on.

    3. Press the BlackBerry button (the button with seven dots on it). Scroll
through all of the icons until you find the "Options" icon. This is an
image of a wrench. Select the "Options" icon, and scroll down to "Auto
On/Off." After selecting "Auto On/Off," you can specify which times you
want your phone to automatically turn on each morning. Choose the
"enable" option on the pop-up menu, and save changes. This will allow
you to turn the phone on each morning with no effort.

Why will my phone not power on? The let stays solid while charging but will not power on

are you trying to charge the phone with the wall charger or the USB cable. if it is the USB cable then chk if the USB port both on the laptop and the hand held is faulty or not, then chk if the USB cable is faulty or not. if you are to charge through the wall charger then check if the charge is faulty if every thing this is fine then get chk the battery.

Blackberry 8800 will not charge on wall charger

You need to find out if the problem is with your current AV charger - the battery or the phone.

Clean the battery and the metal connection with a dry cloth, and try to charge using a USB charger.
