I try sending text messages with blackberry bold 9700 and i get a message saying operator determined barring

Hello, the problem you are facing is simply caused by either of the two things listed below,
1.mistakenly deleted your message center number
2.having a problem with the service provider sending system.
When you mistakenly delete your message center number, all you need to do is just to look for someone who uses the same network with you,and you visit the person's message center number on the message settings.it's not necessary the person must be using a blackberry,it could be a nokia, samsung and others.all you need from them is the message center number.

Having problem with the service provider means probably they might be experiencing a bad network quality from their server,so i will advice you call them to get them aware about the problem you facing.i hope this helps and also solve your problem.

thanks for using fixya,

take care.

Blackberry Curve 8520 Signal problems

Hello,

I don't think this is a phone problem.Bad signals is caused by network provider or probably you are in an area where signals is poor. But i don't think its a phone problem. Try leaving your area and go to another area and see if the problem still persists. Then you could see a Blackberry technician.

Best regards

How can I use a Verizon V Cast cell phone when I have AT&T service?

You can't. Verizon phones are setup to send a receive CDMA signal. AT&T broadcasts a GSM signal. It's like buying an AM/FM Radio and asking how to get SIRIUS satellite signal on it. The verizon phones are built to pickup the type of signal AT&T sends.

Oh except the Blackberry devices. They are usually built to pick up both CDMA and GSM. You would have to pay some company or hacker to unlock the device. There is no universal code for the Blackberry devices, so you would have to pay to have this done specifically for your blackberry.

I cannot recieve incoming txt messages or email for my blackberry

Hi,

Do you recieve incoming/out going calls?

There should be either 'gprs' or " GPRS" or "3g" icon where the signal bars are in the top right hand corner. What do you see?

There could be few possibilities, but first we need to check you have the device correctly configured.

Let me know,

Thanks.

I can't make calls from my Blackberry 7290

Check on the right hand corner of your device for the vertical signal bars - 5 bars indicate full strength and 1 indicate very low signal. "OFF" indicates the radio is off and need to be turned on.

In case signal strength is good, you should be able to make and receive calls. In case it does not work, just try taking the battery out and put it back after 15 seconds and try again.

In case signal strength is low , either you are in a low signal zone or your SIM card is bad. Take the SIM card out, wipe the gold plated surface using a clean tissue, put it back and try again.

In case the radio is OFF, turn it on by clicking on the icon (Turn Wireless on) on the home page.
