Re: notification of phone
Never touch the connections on the SIM card or the phone. Clean the connections gently using surgical spirits. That should do the trick.
On rare occasions the SIM card needs replacing, your network service provider can give you a new one, sometimes it's free.

Ifyour phone freezes, hangs up unexpectedly, vibrates continuously ,touch screenwont respond or in other similar ways doesn't perform as it should, this canoften be solved by performing a software update. Software may performincorrectly for many reasons without there being a fault in the phone. Someproblems may be fixed by re-updating your current software, while others mayrequire installing a new software version.
Tokeep your phone performing at its best, it's a good idea to perform a softwareupdate regularly. You might not always notice what an update has done, but itcan prevent future problems.
Toupdate or reinstall the software please go to nearest authorized service centreof your mobile make and they will update or reinstall the software as required.
Note:Reinstalling the software will delete all the content in your phone likecontacts, calendar entry etc.
Be sure that the sim card is in correctly. I had the same problem and then I noticed the small outlined picture of the sim card in the back of the phone. The whole time I was inserting the sim card the wrong way.
I have had a new orange sim card for my SonyE W850i, however the new sim card isnt connecting to the phone (i think). I have noticed that the new sim card has a smaller 'chip?' on it. Could this be the problem. I have tested both the phone and the sim card on phones/ sims and they seem to work fine, just not when they are together. It seems as though they are incompatible (the phone is an orange make so there should be no problems there). The phone sometimes reads 'insert sim'. athough other times it works ok but then for no reason it breaks down to 'insert sim' again.
