Just a few questions for clarification. What kind of USB device did you connect to your computer? Have you tried any other USB devices? Was it specific to that device only? Did you get an error message before it restarts? if there are any error messages, what are they?Just a few questions for clarification. What kind of USB device did you connect to your computer? That's been a problem for years. Sleep mode turns off USB devices, and they seldom wake when the computer is activated again. To make sure this isn't the problem, you can
Go into Device Manager and under each USB Device, Power tab, disable "Let this device turn off to save power".
Edit Sleep Mode to not control USB devices.
Don't use Sleep Mode.
Unplug the adapter, wait a few seconds, plug in the adapter.
If none of these help, try a self-powered hub. The internal power supply lets you use about 500ma for each USB device, but some draw more current than that. The self-powered hub can deliver what's actually needed for the devices.
I would reinstall xp OS... you should be able to do a restore without loosing any of your own files. After an os restore you may have to reinstall a few programs but your data files should be ok if you do the correct type of install.
try using a different USB port to put the Dynes reader into then insert the memory card in it once the dynes reader is detected by the machine, if still not being detected check the services window
in XP click start open the run window type services.msc in the list look foe Human Interface Device Access double click and change it to Automatic, then look for Plug and Play do the same set it to automatic, then look for Universal Plug and Play Device Host set it to automatic as well make sure that after you set each that you click apply then ok to make changes take effect, after you've done the automatic settings remove the dyne card reader restart the computer aftrer restarting then insert your mini memory card into the dyne reader then insert the dyne reader into a USB port on your computer, Hopefully this should work ^_^
right click START ,choose properties, choose taskbar then customize ,and select power surge...and select ALWAYS HIDE
this way you get rid of the pop-up message and just don't worry about it :)) Or Delete all the USB ports in the devices manager, then restart the computer to let XP install all the USB ports again. Then go to the first USB port and right click on it and go to properties. Then on the advance tab click on do not show warnings
Does the mouse and/or keyboard have a "connect" button on the bottom of either? Try restarting your PC, then, if you have installed new batteries, and the mouse/keyboard is still not connected, try the "Connect" button if any.
I had just scrubbed the hard drive and reloaded the operating system and I could not install the linksys because the machind rebooted everytime I plugged in the usb connection. I noticed a box coming up that was trying to dial up an internet connection. I went into the windows internet setup and checked the box that say "never dial a connection". This seems to have fixed the problem.
you should have a driver installed on your computer so that your device will recognize the device youve plug. if still not work then your usb driver must have a problem. try to plug any usb device to your computer aside from your camcorder then see if it works. if other device is working then your usb on your system is not the problem. youll need a driver for your camcorder. if other device wont work too then your usb nor the driver got a problem. be sure to install both this time. if you need a driver for you camcorder(if you dont have) ill find one. but almost all brand new camcorders camed with a driver and appication software. if you dont have a driver for the usb then ill find too. hope that helps!
Do you have another USB device which you can use to check if it will come up with the same problem? There are 3 things which could cause it to freeze and restart. It could be a problem with the software device driver needed to detect the USB micro cruzer, the USB port itself or it's the USB micro cruzer. One good thing worth to try is plugging your USB micro cruzer on another computer to check if the problem will also occur there. If it does, then it's isolated to the USB device. If there's no other computer available, 1) Try to run an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan on your computer, 2) start up your computer on safe mode and try to check if it'll occur there as well. 3) If it doesn't occur under safe mode and your able to access your USB device, try to run an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan on your USB device to check for problems there. 4) If all else fails, then it could be a problem with the USB device. hope this helps.
