my screen keeps turning white and turns off randomly during the day, or anytime I close the phone by sliding it shut (currently i keep it in the open position to keep it working as long as possible) i have put in a back up battery, and made sure that the water damage circle is not pink indicating damage. the sim card also looks undamaged but I can't tell necessarily my screen keeps turning white and turns off randomly during the day, or anytime I close the phone by sliding it shut (currently i keep it in the open position to keep it working as long as possible) i have put in a back up battery, and made sure that the water damage circle is not pink indicating damage. the sim card also looks undamaged but I can't tell necessarily

Problem :- If your screen has turned white as shown in the above picture then you Samsung SGH-J600 phone has a problem with strip.
Strip connects the two parts of the phone.
And since we slide our phone many times we get this kind of problem.
Solution :- You need to replace the strip at a near by Samsung showroom. Note:- Don't try for other getting it repaired in unauthorized repairing shops for they also replace the strip for a cheaper rate but the life time will be very very small again the problem may repeat within 1 month.
hi, the main reason the screen turns whits is due to the thin ribbon that sends the data from the circuit board to the screen being damaged what happens is that the thin copper wires that are inside the ribbon ware and then break causing a short to the screen and this is what turns the screen white. this happens on most flip and slide phones as the ribbon moves when you slide or flip the phone so over time it becomes brittle and you lose the connection and this turns the screen white.
sometimes it will right itself if you open and close the phone a couple of times but this wont be a long term fix how ever it may be that bad that this will no longer work, its not expensive to get this ribbon replaced but taking you phone to a small phone shop would be your cheapest option.
dear, the strip that connects the keypad with the other circuitry is
damaged. you need to repair it or replace it...it will be checked by an
expert technician of mobile that either it is to be replaced or
repaired...
flip and slide mobile have this kind of problem..moreover, it depends upon the usage of phone for flip/slide... don't use it roughly, next time , it needs a lot of care..

goodluck.. hope it will fix the issue so dont forget to rate it...
More than likely you need a new LCD. I found out the LCD on this model is a bit more sensitive than normal and will malfunction if you put too much pressure on it while sliding the phone. I have these screens in shop and replace them all the time. [email protected]
There is a fix. Ok so what you wanna do is power off your Samsung rant then you take out the battery and put it back in. After that you open to the slide pad and hold down the T and Y keys then power it on while still holding the 2 keys after the Samsung logo pops up then you can let go. Keep the slide keys open while it is powering on. You can close the slide pad when your screen shows up then it should be fixed. Well hope this works for you it worked for my moms phone when she was having this problem. Note: If your phone screen freezes or turns white again just redo the process.
I followed these steps that were listed, but it didn't work. Then I increased the time in step to an hour, and it worked
I called GE support. I was told
1. unplug power from base
2. unplug phone connection from base
3. remove cover and battery from handset
4. wait 10 minutes
5. put battery back, reattach phone connection and power
yeah i also have a samsung m520, and its rececntly been turining white then back to normal. Its really annoying. I got it replaced last year with the warranty but now, about a year later, it turns white again. I went to the Sprint store and they said the cord that connects the screen and slider is either cut off or damaged. I like never drop my phone or in water, and its sucksss...
and i thought Samsung was reliable.
