Question about 2wire (2701HG-B) Wireless Router

My modem is blinking green and it doesn't work

I cant get a connection from it. i tried restarting it

If dsl light is flashing is trying to get connetion from isp check wires from jack to modem
check for filters on phones,fax,alarm systems(not on modem)
or call your isp

    After 4 routers from windstream with a green light saying we have connectivity when we don't; I am going back to reliable Blue Ridge's cable internet with our reliable scientific america modem with netgear wireless n router. The 2wire consistantly drops all our electronic devices and will not permit us to connect our bluray player or roku player, eventhough they are supposed to be compatible. I wish there was a level zero for a rating. I have had the phone lines checked by the phone company, filters checked by the phone company and a seperate line put in by the phone company just for the dsl. The question is - which is the true issue Windstream or 2wire. Looking forward to Monday when I get all my devices back. Bundles look like a good deal to switch to until you end up with unreliable internet service. I have been an internet user since the early days of prodigy and have never had issues like this before. I am saying goodbye and good riddens to 2wire and windstream. I would rather pay more money monthly for something that works than to through any more money into resolving issues with the 2wire and windstream.

Dsl light goes beyween blinking green, then goes solid red, then back to blinking green. Cannot connect to internet anymore.


The modem cannot get a signal from your service provider. The DSL light is an indicator if your modem is communicating with the network of your service provider. DSL light should always stay solid green. Try contacting your service provider. It might also be an indication of a bad modem.

Cant get internet connestion


Are you hard wiring it? if so you may need to reboot your modem then start the ps3 back up. Don't unplug from the computer and connect it directly to your PS3 because the modem still has the computer's ip address and it won't recognize the PS3 until you reboot it. If it's a wireless connection, check to see that when you scan for wireless connection that the green wireless LED is blinking, meaning it's searching for a signal. If it's blinking, then try resetting the modem and the wireless router as well and give it another try. If the green light does not blink, then there might be a harware issue with your PS3. Green light on internet and wireless are blinking


If you are still experiencing normal internet connection then this blinking is normal. If you have lost connection to the internet then first thing to try is to unplug your modem and router for a minute and then plug them back in.
From time to time static can build up in the connection and you can lose the connection. Restarting the modem and router will reset that connection.

Sounds like a problem with your cable connection. Check your coaxial cable, and the splitter from where the cable enters your home. The tech will use a signal meter to measure the quality of your cable, and then replace the wiring if necessary.

Westwall modem Internet is solid red light


If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.

If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.

To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.

Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.

Modem keep rebooting.


It sounds like you have a bad modem. Have you tried to plug the device into a different power outlet? This will rule out that it's a possible power issue in the outlet.

If no change by trying a different outlet I would replace modem.

Internet Light keeps blinking - all others are out - No internet


HI,

Blinking green internet light is normal BUT you must check if theres any dsl outage in your area..You can contact your ISP for that.

But then maybe you can try this:

Turn your PC off > then you modem or router.. after 60 secs turn your modem or router ON first then your PC and check if you can go online.

If you called your internet service provider {ISP} and no reported outage let me know and we'l solution for that.

Router not picking up i0 address


If you have cable internet then you need to :
* disconnect router from cable modem
* restart the cable modem (power off-on)
* restart the router (power off-on)
* connect cable modem to router WAN port using CAT5 straight cable

If problem still exist try changing the cable to new one. If it still does not work then contact your ISP
