Question about Haier HSB03 Compact Refrigerator

1 Answer

I just moved into this apt and it seems the refrigerator runs all the time with a hum. It is a 2006 Whirlpool.

Thank you for the response. So why does the refrigerator run all the time? I bought some hamburger within the last 7 days and when I took it out the meat looked dark and had a slight odor when it thawed. It tasted okay but I am not too sure if I left it in there longer it would have. I need to fine a solution to this problem. Could it be the temp is to high?

It is vibration of compressor. Try adjusting the balance wheels at the bottom to eliminate the sound. But some humming will still ontinues.

Please check the temperature control switch and check if it is set to max cool to test whether it is working properly.
If the problem still persists then get it checked for the coolent gas. May be it is less.
If it still persists then you have to call a technician to check the compressor. May be it is not working properly.

My kitchen aid refrigerator model kssc42qms02 making humming noises and the the temp lights are flashing

Assuming that both freezer and refrigerator temperatures have risen and the humming sound that you heard was followed by a sudden click more than likely the start device on the compressor has gone bad. This is a common problem with all Whirlpool refrigerators (KitchenAid is Whirlpools top of the line product and suffers the same problem).

We have moved our Whirlpool A Class Fridge Freezer and it doesn't seem to be working now, can you help?

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote on moving refrigerators...if you did not do it thisway then you may well have ruined a perfectly good refrigerator.

Moving a Refrigerator What is thebest way

If you already have moved it wrong, you can sometimes get it working byplugging it in and unplugging it a number of times with an hour or so inbetween.

Tub will not spin unless I manually turn it, then it will take hold and finish spinning. Someone told me it was the clutch. The washer is 8 years old. Is it worth fixing?

Hello,

If you are able to hear the motor running "normally" while the tub is not spinning, then it likely is the clutch. Leaving it running like this (motor on but tub still) will eventually produce an acrid smell which will confirm the clutch.

If the motor just seems to hum and not spin, then the start capacitor is likely faulted.

Both are reasonably cheap as far as parts go, but clutch replacement can be a chore. Capacitor replacement is very easy. If you are mechanically apt, you can replace the clutch itself.

This washer is definitely worth trying to save (my opinion), but ultimately it is up to how much time you have, how much money you want to put into it vs the cost of a replacement.

Fridge section of whirlpool fridge/freezer not working, compressor not running, freezer seems ok at the moment

Hello there:
I will post this in 2 separate post so you will be able to troubleshoot this fully ok?
f the refrigerator or freezer isn't cooling properly or if one is and the other isn't , you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running. First, answer these questions: Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.” Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it. Next, see if the compressor motor is running The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help. If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these: in next post

Freezer compartment no longer cools. Continuous defrost cycle?

Good day,
Sounds more like the compressor trying to start and can't.
Pull the machine out, remove the rear cover and see if in fact the sound is coming from the compressor.

your refrig will have "normal" off cycles for when the temp control is satisified and when it goes into defrost cycle. normal run time for most units is 60-80%. main thing though is that your temps are normal. thx peyton

Fridge won't dispense ice through door.

First take the hopper out and let it de-ice completely making sure that it is dry before re-installing it. Make sure that the auger moves when re installed with no ice in it.
