do I leave the thermostat wired like it is or do I eliminate something. I want to use the heat strip for heat.

I have it in my truck it is a honeywell, but we replaced it with a standard honeywell thermostat. the unit comes on but the air handler only blows hot air, the low pressure side from the condenser is cold and the high pressure side is luke warm, would it help if I installed the old thermostat.

Same as heat pump with the exception you will only be using two thermostat wires. C & Y. They will power the contactor coil.

do you have a make and model of your thermostat? If so, I can be better able to answer that question. In the meantime, you can always use EMER HT mode for heating. If you use the regular heat mode, it will run your air conditioner until the temperature drops enough that the electric heaters kick in. We may be able to do something different with that thermostat to make it more user friendly, but I'll need that thermostat information first. I'll look forward to hearing back from you. :-)

Hi Cmarks....................... regarding the warm air from your furnace in COOL Mode, see if the larger of the two refrigerant lines is cold to the touch at the indoor air handler. If so and it is still blowing warm air, check your electric strip heaters and make sure they are not on. Without specific thermostat and air handler/condensing model number information, I am unable to specify exactly how to wire your system. If you can get me that information, I will be happy to assist your further. :-)

I need the low voltage wiring diagram for this condenser model 10pjb24a01 weather king

That 10 seer heat pump is typically wired.

http://rheemote.net/docstore/webdocs/Public/ServicePublic/Trouble2/pdfs/Wiring/90-21779-08-06_HP_Typical.pdf

These were typically installed as the cheapest thing available to a homebuilder, mainly installed in rentals and affordable housing. Naturally, they cost the most to run. A higher efficiency unit will pay for itself in a couple of years and then save money every time it runs after that. Of course, replacement parts are inexpensive, so this is ideal for a rental property.

Compressor will not start up during new gooman packaged 3.5 ton heat pump a/c unit installation

New unit and it will not start typically a miswired unit. which happened at the factory. If you turn off the power you can Trace the wire from the compressor and make sure there are no disconnected wires. You need to know how to read a wiring diagram and a meter to effectively troubleshoot you loss of voltage or if the compressor is operable.

I want to enable the heating component of my central A/C if possible, or install a heat pump in the unit.

You need a strip heater for the air handler portion if you want heat. That will almost certainly require a circuit upgrade too. It would not be practical to 'add' the heat pump. You would need to replace the entire condenser (outside unit) to do that. You would also need a different thermostat and probably a new thermostat wire to the outside.

Installation manual required for teco split aircondtioner. Reverse cycle LS0909Y. I have operation manual but not sure how to install and wire up. Many thanks.

Is the unit an AC only or a heat pump?
Wiring to the units should in the manual or online.
Both units proper house voltage to inside unit and outside unit. There will also be a two wire low voltage cable between thr two. This is so the inside unit can turn on the higher current draw of the compressor in the outside condenser unit thru it's relay. If you have a heat pump there will also be a set of two wires to the 4 way gas valve in the condenser unit to change from heating to cooling mode,a set of two wires to control the on/off function of the fan in the condenser unit when it needs to defrost and mayby a two wire set to a themal sensor in the condenser to sense if it is frosting up when system is in heat mode.
Try to get a wiring diagram and if you can't get to the point where you understand how to wire the unit don't guess! Call someone who knows wiring or call a pro, he can you money over the cost of replacing parts if unit is miswired.
