Freezer side not freezing

Check for ice / frosting inside the freezer .... If present you probably have a defrost problem.... This causes the freezer coil to ice up and block the air flow ... the causes could be a bad defrost heater , defrost timer, defrost sensors, or control board. Also make sure that the condenser coil is clean. remove ALL dust with a vacuum and a coil brush .the coil is located either on the bottom or on the back side of the unit... My A/C freezing its coils, while the fans keep running. The AC unit (outside) keep running and never stop caused the coils freezing. It doesn't matter when I turn off or set it to Cool position, the...

Sounds like the contactor in the condensing unit is stuck. That is why it will not turn off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the inside air handler is not blowing and the outside condensing unit is running, then this will cause the inside coils to freeze up rather quickly.
The contactor is located in the outside condensing uni in the electrical compartment.
If it is sticking it will need to be replaced.

Have a true ttp67 that freezes when turned on after 2-3 hours instead of cooling!

If it was off over night the fan comes on you should feel air coming from the inside vent the condensor fan may be bad or the blade is loose
If you feel air then it freezes it's a Classic example of low freon gas.

Ac freezing outside not inside

If its in the cooling mode the ice is in both places. It freezes up inside first then works its way outside just usually not easy to see the inside ice because its incased in the coil box. This could be due to a lack of airflow ie dirty filter coil or closed dampers or low on freon. If its a heat pump and in the heating mode it could be a bad defrost control, lack of airflow across the outdoor coil or low on freon.

Central air unit two part system, inside and outside. Freezes

If coils are clean and blower is working properly,
then you're probably low on freon.

Coil freezes up

Usually when the indoor coil freezes up you either have dirty filters or coil but if you had this unit replaced last year your coil and filters are probably OK so you probably have a leak in the unit and are low on refrigerant.

Air condition unit will not cool and the coils freeze up in just a few min.

Is the inside fan running properly? Typically if the condensor outside is working, but the fan inside is not, the coils will freeze up quickly. For the system to work properly, you need to be blowing warmer air over the coils inside the house- that then brings the temp of the refrigerant in the coils back up, and the loop continues. If the fan inside is not working, check to make sure that the circuit breaker is not tripped.
