Are you hearing a clicking sound? If you do hear a clicking sound everytime you turn on the Western Digital HD, sorry to tell you, but we can no longer do anything on this. Because the clicking sound is also called the "click of death".

If you're not hearing any clicking sound, but the blue light stays solid, try to use different USB cable and connect it to a different USB ports of the computer. Might as well, try to connect it to another computer using new USB cable.

If same problem occur, check the Disk Management of the computer, while the HD is connected to it. Here's how:

* For Win XP:

1. Right-click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management.
2. Write down all the drive letters that will appear.
3. While the Disk Management is opened, disconnect the HD.
4. Wait for the Disk Management to refresh.
5. Check again if there's a drive letter that will disappear.

If there's a drive letter that disappear, then your computer can still detect your HD. Try to reconnect the HD to the computer, right-click the HD, and try to change the drive letter.

There are times the drive letter is conflicting with another drive letter. Changing the drive letter starting from Z to H, might help us in resolving this issue.

If you hear clicking sound, then you may need to bring the HD into a data recovery center, so that they can retrieve or back up the files, and try to reformat the drive.

Good luck!

The blue light indicates the wireless network is working, it is just that nothing is connecting through it.

The internet icon should be solid green or blinking green which shows it is connected to the Internet, if not connect your ISP.

Dsl light goes beyween blinking green, then goes solid red, then back to blinking green. Cannot connect to internet anymore.

The modem cannot get a signal from your service provider. The DSL light is an indicator if your modem is communicating with the network of your service provider. DSL light should always stay solid green. Try contacting your service provider. It might also be an indication of a bad modem.

Why does insignia ns-bthdp have a solid blue light?

I had this problem but the red light was on constantly with no response to anything I did. I plugged this into my power adapter and pressed the + and - buttongs at the same time and it reset and started working properly.
