Question about Sub-Zero 650 / O Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

3 Answers

The refrigerator on my SubZero 650 is too warm. I set 38 F and the indicator goes directly to 48/50 degrees within a second of me releasing the temp select button. Freezer works fine. I have cleaned the Condenser and no change. Service light not illuminated.

Well, yeah. But that is the problem - the temperature is too high. Up until about 2 days ago, it always showed 39 degrees when i opened the door (the temp I had it set to). If I left it open for a few minutes, it *might* rise to 40 or 41 degrees. But now it won't go below 46.
So far I have tried vaccuming the condensor and restarting the unit - but the vaccum condensor light keeps turning back on. Pretty frustrating...HELP!

I had a similar problem. The problem was attributed to a faulty FAN switch,That fixed the problem. The light switch and the Fan switch are different.FAN switch is normally closed while the Light switch is normally open.

Hi,
Check for frost building on the back wall in the freezer. If this is happening, the unit is not defrosting and this frost will block the air flow to the refrigerator section. The air flow from the freezer is what cools the refrigerator and without it, the refrigerator section will get warm.
A technician will be required to make these checks.

Hope this helps.

I believe it's showing the actual temperature that it's currently inside the refrigerator, not the temperature it's set at. At least that's how my sub zero works. You may need to clean the coils to get it to cool better.

Hi there

Samsung's child lock is easy to alter

Press the vacation and fridge temp buttons simultaneously and hold for 4 seconds, this will release the child lock, to reinstate the lock just repeat this. 4 seconds is quite a long time.

Hope this helps

The tempature is set for 38 degrees, but the refrigerator is only at 47 degrees. Any ideas?

Chartigan - had this problem with my 1998 642 about 5 years ago, and had to have the condenser coils replaced twice- because the refrigerant was leaking. warning signs are: temp is more than 37 degrees [ get a fridge thermometer to monitor], food seemed to spoil quickly, and frequent notices from the display bar to clean condenser . after cleaning it 3 times in a month, when i called the service center they said that warning actually means"call service center" - arrrggghh the manual sure doesnt say that! anyhow - just something to consider, and hope your problem is not this serious.

Subzero 650 fridge temp says 34 but is really about 50

Is your thermometer in a glass of water? That's the way to get an accurate temperature reading. You may want to call an authorized servicer.
