Question about Kenmore 96012 / 96014 / 96019 Electric Kitchen Range
The baking element got really bright in one spot while the oven was on 350F and then it no longer worked. It looks like the coating or whatever on the oven baking element is missing now and the oven won't heat up at all. Can I replace just this part or will I have to get a new oven?
You can replace the element. The element should just plug in to the oven. You might have to remove a few bolts that hold the element in place. Get the model number of your range and call your local appliance stores, or order it online. Unplug the old element and plug in the new element.
