Audio device error

As you don't say what your device error is I would suggest trying to download and install the audio drivers again. But the audio hardware is the weakest on the board and so the most likely to fail first. you can still add a soundcard if the onboard audio has failed.

I HAVE JUST INSTALLED XP-SP2. BUT I HAVE LOST MY MOTHERBOARD S/W. NOW,HOW COULD I INSTALL MY REALTEK SOUND MANAGER??? I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP. PLZ.

First download Realtek* ALC Audio Driver .

How to Install
1. Download this file to a folder on your PC.
2. Double-click the filename to launch the installation
IMPORTANT: Audio drivers may fail to install in Windows* XP 64-Bit Edition. Symptoms may include error messages, such as "Error in installation" or "Unknown error". Microsoft's Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB901105) fixes this issue. After installing this update, the audio drivers for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will successfully install.

ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe motherboard with no sound

This is a known isue and ASUS is working on a sound driver for the chipset. Keep checking their site for driver updates. The board should all install with Windows 7 except for the sound drivers. Some people say they can install the vista driver and run it in vist or xp compatibility mode. The other thing you can do is pick up a cheap $20 Win 7 compliant sound card till the chipset driver issue is resolved.

What ram is better to my mother board M741LMRT

Hi Norma,

I think this m/b is part of the pc-chips (hsing-ten) M741T series. As such it needs 168 pin SDRAM, 100mHz is best. The maximum you can insert is 768MB. You should be able to get them for just a few dollars.

Here is the manual Check it against your motherboard to see if I have the right one.

Alternatively, if it's an option, you might like to consider upgrading your PC instead at this time as this is quite an old motherboard.

Audio device is not working

I have been working on this for months and finally got everything including front audio panel going. First Download the latest realtek audio drivers available  from intel's website or go here and download #3 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2839&OSFullName=Windows%2A+XP+Home+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go%21. Next goto control panel and add/remove programs then look for realtek audio drivers that have been previously installed. Remove program if one is found. Then go to device manager (right click my computer, go to properties, Then hardware, then device manager. Click on the"+" in front of system devices. Find "microsoft uaa bus driver for high defintion audio". Right click that and select, "disable". Then right click it again and "unintstall" the device. This will allow you to install the audio drivers on your disc, or ones you have downloaded to install without an error message. Once done install your audio drivers and restart your PC and windows should start dectecting your new hardware. An installation wizzard pops up. Install the files needed yourself from a specific location, not a disk. It will ask for location of file name "hdaudbus.sys". That file is in C:/Windows/System32 folder. If it's not there, which it should be, just find and download that one file but it should already be there. I have done all this on xp home ed, sp3. I now have sound, and my front audio panel works. Please let me know if you have any problems by emailing me at chadmon10@hotmail.com
