Question about Biostar M7VIG-400 (M7VIG 400-COMBO4) Motherboard
Have been trying to reinstall xp which is another problem in itself (freezes at 20 % or so and comes back that hard drive is corrupt) disconnected a few things and reconnectged...now getting a bios error msg....CMOS checksum error...system reset due to over-clocking setting
No problem, once and awhile I just cruise around on here. You can narrow the problems down by either replacing the ram/hardrive/expansion cards/cpu with known working parts, or putting the parts into another working cpu untill it stops working. My guess would first be to try removing the hard drive. Once you get a working combination, add the parts in untill you find a the issue component. If the problem persists, your looking at a bad harddrive controller or hard drive, that undermines your entire system's stability. If I am right your working with a socket A motherboard and thats pretty old so I wouldnt be suprised if it may be quitting.
