Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check if the motor is running, if it is then check the drain hose and drain pump. Usually water not draining at all is due to the drain line that is clogged and/ or because of kinked drain hoses that’s attached to the Drain Pump. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. If you think that this isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools—then you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Spin cycle not working properly. A little water (1 inch) is left and clothes are heavy with water. I tried the spin cycle repeatedly - water still at bottom of tub.

Washer sticks on wash cycle; runs continuosly on spin cycle

That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. Is some water in the tub of a top loading washer normal?

It is normal to have residual water in the drain lines and pump following a wash cycle. This is the low point of the drain cycle and gravity will ALWAYS cause some water to be there. As long as the water is not visible in the spin basket, you have nothing to worry about.

Some model washers also have a balance ring around the perimeter on top of the wash tub that is filled with fluid. This acts as a stabilizer to help keep the washer balanced during the spin cycle. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this is helpful to you.

What causes Cabrio washer to get unbalanced in spin cycle?

Try making sure that your draining hose isnt jammed all the way down the hole. When you installed it the u shaped accessory was needed for the draining hose. Try pulling the draining hose out...curve the front and zip tying it to your cold water valve. This will allow it to drain properly and not get water push back into the drum causing it to be unlevel

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1: Won't drain

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.
