Ecoquest Living Air Classic Air Purifier has a strong chlorine smell when it is on. What can I do to fix this problem.

the plates are damage you need to replace it and be careful wen it`s to much humidity because that can damage the plates,and the ligth its the uv ligth you can get parts at ecoquest

it needs new plate (s)

Check the plates for cracks and make sure the metal contacts are making a good connection with the metal grid on the plates. Either problem will cause the crackling problem

Hello, To smell like cigarettes, you would have to be smoking ? I would recommend calling the manufacturer and describing this problem to them. Somethings going on, and I would start there. I hope they can be of help to you.

You might want to check into upgrading. There could be a $100 rebate when you trade-in an old purifier when you buy a new one.

1) Are you still looking for a solution?
2) Are you able to trace the odor (e.g. do you see any visible signs of scorching or burning, esp. with the electronics components?
3) Unless you are an electronics technician, you won't be swapping out cooked parts from a circuitboard (and if you were, you wouldn't need my advice......(;^]). If the circuitboard is bad, it's probably more trouble than it's worth to fix.

EcoQuest Int'l, manufacturer of the Living Air, no longer provides repair or refurbishment of the Classic product, but they do offer a trade-in on a newer version. If you can't locate the dealer you purchased it from to assist you, you can likely find a dealer in the LA area (Google or Yahoo keyword search "EcoQuest Dealer, Los Angeles"), or contact EcoQuest directly aT 1-800-989-2299 or [email protected].; I'm sure they can put you in-touch with a dealer in your area.
