Question about Garden

Pressing and reloeasing the primer bulb does not bring any feul to the fuel line. I have checked connections and they are secure.

The primer bulb may be the problem. They will get soft and loose their suction ability. Also the fuel lines can crack and cause this. If you replace the primer bulb be sure to make a sketch where the fuel line go.

generally you have 1 line from the tank that has a fuel filter attached to it that goes to the inlet port on the carb, 1 line from the carb to the primer bulb, and 1 line from the primer bulb back to the tank. when you press the primer it draws fuel through the carb and returns it to the tank through the primer bulb

How to replace fuel lines on homelite ut20811b gas trimmer


If there are two different size lines in the tank the smaller one is the main fuel line. The main fuel line will have the filter on the end of it in the tank and the filter should lay flat on the bottom of the tank. The main line will go directly to the carb on the fuel pump side. It is very difficult to describe and I dont have a way of giving a picture. If you have had the carb opened up the fuel pump side is the side that is mostly flat with holes and the dighram with the flaps.
The other nipple; usually more toward the center of the carb body, will go to the primer bulb. The primer bulb will have 2 different length nipples. The longer one is out to the tank, the shorter one is in from the carb. There is no need to have more than a half inch of line from the primer into the tank. when hooked up properly; as you press and release the primer bulb it will draw fuel up the main fuel line into the carb and fill the carb with fuel then from the carb to the primer bulb and fill the primer bulb with fuel then the excess fuel will be returned to the tank from the primer bulb.

Walbro WT891 carb on a Craftsman chainsaw. Carb is brand new, all fuel lines and fule filter replaced. I prime the carb with the little plunger, chainsaw starts up and runs out of fuel within 30 seconds....


Who connected these hoses? the normal routing for a machine with a primer is like this, the fuel hose from the tank with the filter on the end goes to the carb fuel inlet nozzel ( not to the primer ) nearest to the pump cover ( cover on carb held with one screw ) the pipe from the metering side of the carb connects to the shorter nozzel on the primer bulb ( suction side ), the longer nozzel on the primer ( pressure side ) connects to the pipe going back to the tank, just remember the primer pulls fuel from the carb,into the bulb, and pushes it back into the tank, it is not actually a primer it is a purge. because it is connected this way it is impossible to flood the engine no matter how many times the bulb is pressed.

Started reving very fast wont idle ;was the correct fuel mix was cutting on side ie not down


Check your all of fuel lines for cracks / air leaks especially near any fittings. Also check the primer bulb (if installed) for any pin holes. The symptom you describe is either caused by fuel starvation or the introduction of air into the fuel system. Also check inside the gas tank looking at the fuel pick up tube END / strainer for debris. Make sure that the gas cap remains vented. If some one has placed plastic over the fuel tank fill hole and then the gas cap it will perform as you stated. This model also has a mini fuel filter that can be clogged causing fuel starvation.

There is a fuel line item A7 and a tank purge device item A6 that is often where the air leak presents itself.
in DETAIL B
The primer bulb item B14 and the purge line B13 are also a major source of air introduction.

Once you get the feul system sealed again by repair of the fuel lines or replacement of the primer bulb you should be back in the wood cutting business again WITHOUT making carb aadjustments.

When i press the primer bulb air goes into the gas tank but no gas goes into the primer bulb.


Check the fuel filter for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Inspect the primer pump carefully for any cracks or holes in the bulb part. The primer is supposed to pull fuel through the carburetor from the tank supply line and filter and return it to the tank. Hope this helps!

Need diagram for fuel line in tank fuel filter


The small diameter fuel line that has the fuel filter in the tank on it goes directly to the carburetor (with the built-in primer or externally mounted primer). IF the carb has the external primer, the small line goes to the nipple on the carburetor opposite the end with the hole in the cover. If it has the built-in primer on it, it goes to the carb body on the nipple furthest from the bulb. The large diameter line is the fuel return line and if the carb has the bulb on it, this line connects on the nipple closest to primer bulb.. With the externally mounted primer, this line connects on the longest nipple coming out of the primer and goes to the fuel tank (not the filter though). There is a nylon connector inside the tank that holds this larger line in place. The shorter nipple on primer bulb has a smaller diameter fuel line connected to it and connects to the nipple on the carb closest to the end with the hole in the cover. Built in primer has 2 fuel lines...externally mounted has 3.

Poulan 2150 put new fuel lines on geting gas trew line put the primer buld will not prime and somtimes gets stuck but will release win i pull it of carb


Check the condition of the primer bulb for hardness or cracking. If ok, remove the line that goes from the bulb back into the tank and try to pump fuel from the carburetor. If nothing, switch the position of the other line at the back of the primer and try to draw fuel again. If hooked correctly, the primer will pull fuel through the carburetor body filling all cavities and into the primer bulb. If still nothing, try switching the lines at the carburetor (it should not pump backwards through the check valves in the pumper chamber). If still nothing, switch the primer connection again. Some combination of line connections should allow fuel to be pumped through. When correct, reconnect the loose primer line to allow fuel to return to the tank. This is a good reason for replacing only one line at a time. Hope this helps!

Poulan Trimmer PPB100 fuel lines


The larger of the fuel lines is the main fuel line. It is the one that has the filter stuck in the end of it and runs out the larger hole in the tank to a fitting on the carb. The smaller line should be about one inch into the tank and comes out the smaller hole and runs to one of the nipples on the primer bulb. Press the primer bulb and put your finger in front of the fittings. The one that you feel air coming out of when you do this is the fitting that runs from the primer bulb to the carb. I need to know how the fuel lines should be connected for Ryobi 725r? There are three.


The line from the fuel tank that has the filter on it goes directly to the carburetor below the primer bulb. One line comes from the carburetor to the primer bulb. The other line goes from the primer bulb to the fuel tank. Primer bulb can be pressed to determine which side is pulling fuel (line from carb) and which is pushing (line to fuel tank).
