It connects to the computer with a USB cable.

You will also have to download the driver from Lexmark here:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+Photo+P3150

Be sure to unplug the USB cable from the computer BEFORE installing the software, and ONLY plug it in when prompted to do so by the on-screen instructions.

I just buy a new computer and go to hook up my KVM switch that I was previously using and was working flawlessly. All cables are connected (KVM PS2) except the KVM video cable to computer # 2. So I'm...

I would look first at rep;lacing the cable itself, KVM's usually last a very long time. Cables can break down after awhile. The easiest way to check is to try the other cable on the new machine., or a pin could be bent on the cable.
I would look at those two things first before the KVM. IT is possible that the KVM may not support the new machine, depending on how old it is.

AP5201 KVM was working; after power down, moving rack, setting up again -- no keyboard action. Got the right plugs in the right ports. Powered down as the manual says and powered back up. Tried different...

If other keyboards and mice won't work, it sounds like your KVM bought the farm. Does it have any power lights that come on? is it plugged into a live outlet? Are they PS2 ports or USB? PS2 ports don't like power surges. Is the device plugged into a UPS? Does the UPS have power or is is tripped? In a server room?

KVM unresponsive

Greg,

Try swapping the KVM cables from the 2008 computer into the Vista computer and see if the problem follows the 2008 computer. This KVM gets the drivers it needs from the OS and the IOGear web site does not show any support for 2008.

4-port usb kvw switch #GCS634U

The GCS634U is designed and tested to work only with a standard USB keyboard and mouse. However, most wireless keyboards and mice work with it, but they cannot guarantee any specific model or brand that would work correctly.

As you can see, this KVM switch is a bus powered device (meaning it only gets power from the USB ports of the computers). If the computer cannot provide enough power for the KVM switch to function correctly, then the wireless keyboard will be affected.

You may try using the IOGEAR GKM541RA. It's tested to work with the GCS634U. Or you may also try using a self-powered USB hub (meaning, it has it's own power adapter) and connect it in between the KVM switch and the computer. That self-powered USB hub will be the one that will add up power to the KVM switch and help it to function properly.

KVM converter

Buy a usb hub and an usb extension, so that you can have 4 or 6 free usb at the front of your computer, and you can switch devices using usb rather then the mouse converter . Using the converter on mouse and keybord make easier for the plugs to slip out, and usb is better. Note some usb modem and some other device do not support usb hubs, you have to plug them straight into the free computer plug , if you have any.

Power Cord Connection on Lexmark P3150 Printer

Here's a link to the product manual:

http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/3100/eng/winug.pdf

It looks like the power cord plugs into the power supply and the power supply then inserts in the back of the printer on the left side as you look at the rear of the device.

Hope this helps.
