The car has to be scanned to retrieve the codes to diagnose it....
but the lamp means the system is inoperative until the problem is fixed...(it will not deploy) not to worry, it will not deploy while driving....but on the flipside it will not deploy if you are involved in an accident either......some people prefer them inoperative, some people like the safety of them...choice is yours
This simply indicates that there are likely issues with the air-bag or the air-bag sensor.
The air-bag cannot explode on its own. But you will need an expert to have a look and make possible corrections.
Good luck dear.
That light means a malfunction is present very unlikely to explode on its own but it is malfunctioning so beware.
may or may not deploy in an accident depends on whats wrong
this is for the other techs in here.
an air bag CAN explode by itself! the only time they are relitivly safe is when they are removed from car and stored vinyl side up. static electricity can deploy them. further more some are mechanically deployed just like a rifle cartridge volvo and early air bag jeep are examples. the srs light on does NOT mean it wont deploy. the air bag is designed to try to deploy no matter what codes or faults are present if an accident is detected. older chryslers were going off on panic brakeing situations.
sorry for ranting its the forman in my trying to keep people safe
