Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

I have Jabsco 63020-0012 searchlight. I had to remove one of the motors due to a broken wire. When I tried to solder the wire, I ruined the motor. Tried to operate without one motor; now the whole searchlight does not work. Is this due to the digital signaling system? Do I now need to replace to whole motor assembly? If so, where can I source?

Is the motor required for the digital signaling for other searchlight functions, i.e. flood light, spot light & signaling (SOS)? Sites recommended do not carry motor.

Hi,there is no way the searchlight will work without a motor, the best and only way to restore your searchlight back to a perfect working condition is to replace the motor assembly, however, you can purchase the motor assembly at www.boatpartsonline.org or www.bestwarninglights.com.Better still, you can go tho the place you purchased the searchlight,if they don't have the motor, they will recommend the best place to purchase an original motor assembly for your searchlight.
NOTE;Please try to be more careful with the motor this time

The motor is required for digital signalling which is responsible for other functions

Light turns on and moves up and down but will not go from side to side only clicks, I removed the light and the gears looked good. could it be the control itself?

Chances are that it may be a ceased motor assy.
I had same problem & solved it by replacing motor assy.
Suggest unwire it & remove from unit and apply 12v to terminals (either way round)
If the gear wheel does not turn slowly then that is where your ploblem lies.
Replacement motor not excessively expensive.

I have a jabsco 8'' searchlight, it slews however the light went out, is this replaceable or is a whole new unit needed.

Seems like it MUST be replaceable. Look it up on the net. http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS331&=&q=jabsco+searchlight+parts&aq=1&oq=jabsco+searchlight
