Hi,
Red power/ standby light would be flashing in sequence with 3 seconds long pause, please count its flashing from pause to pause and let me know as its an error code that indicates problem section in tv.
Any further info like how this problem occurred would also be helpful to diagnose problem.
Thanks.

    yes, it red power light is flashing with a pause of three sec.
    =============================================

    Please count how many times red light flashing between pause to pause, like 2 times, 3 times, 4, 5 times etc.

    its flashes 6 times before it pause.
    ==============================================

    OK, thanks.
    6 times red light flashing shows problem with low voltage power supply (+5 Volt) and few circuit boards like A, B and M needs to be tested by qualified tech.
    It seems hardware failure, however, unplug tv from AC wall socket for 5-10 minutes to get it reset, replug back in and turn it On and check.
    If problem still not solved then qualified local tech presence is needed to check above mentioned circuits of tv.
    Hope this info will help you.
    Thanks.

That is a error code and in several of these sets it means thermal fuse is blown--Google the model number with owner manual or service manual to learn for sure.

I have a sony kds 60a2020. the lamp sensor light was flashing and no picture. i bought a new lamp and installed it and now all i get is red power light flashing three times. as much as i can tell am ...

A lot of these had problems with the lamp door; you need to remove the door and take a careful look at it edgewise---heat from the lamp can warp the door.

Notice the small plastic peg on the back of the door--when installed it engages a lever which is a safety switch so set cannot be operated with door removed.

If door appears slightly warped what I do is engage the lever (usually tiny and blue in color) and turn the set on.

WARNING: IF SET COMES ON DO NOT LOOK AT LIGHT FROM LAMP DIRECTLY. If set works with lever engaged you need to replace the door (EBAY has sellers with most of them) and DO NOT OPERATE SET WITH DOOR REMOVED OR REPLACE OUTER SHIELD AS HEAT FROM LAMP CAN DAMAGE THAT WITH DOOR REMOVED.

Before you rate this solution let me know if you have questions or what you find; engaging the lever will either rule the door out or confirm it is your problem.

The tv went blank @ the red led is flashing continuosly sony kds-60a2020

Hi,
If its lamp light on tv front that is blinking red then lamp is dead/ broken and need to be replaced. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user mnaual of tv.
If it is standby/ power light that is blinking then please count how many times it is blinking after three seconds pause and let me know to diagnose tv problem because it is an error code that has info in its blinking.
Thanks.

No picture, and ren lamp light goes on

You need to buy a replacement lamp, the part number is XL-5200, make sure you get the one with the housing, it will make installation much easier. You can pull out the old lamp from the access panel on the right of the TV.
