My camera has been installed and everything and now it won't turn on at all and none of my programs like windows live messenger or the programs that came with it can't recognize its there. Under Device manager however, my computer knows its there but says it can't start but offers no solutions. Now on top of this the lens will not rotate side to side like it used to. and it sounds like something is loose inside of it....
After this install the Webcam driver in the system. Installation of Webcam Driver Go to the control panel Click on the System Icon Click on the Hardware Tab Click on the Device Manager s Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it. Right click on it and uninstall it. After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes. Driver installation Wizard start. Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next. Driver will be install.

If the camera is plugged in and installed correctly then you should be able to open up a web cam program like skype, gmail or messenger and test out the camera, as well as adjust the camera's settings.
If the camera lens does not have auto focus, see if you can move the camera lens around in both directions. Some cameras have this for manual focusing. If you cannot access the camera lens then it SHOULD have an auto focus feature.
Also, play around with the camera settings (brightness, focus, zoom, sharpness) to find the best combination of setting for your environment.
Older cameras dont have very good resolutions so don't expect a high quality image or frame rate.
Some webcams have a focus ring around the lens that you can rotate to sharpen the picture - Others rely on the software. Webcams rely also on support programs - for example I just installed a logitech webcam for a friend and it had to have Directx 10 installed before installing. Others may require Shockwaveplayer. Check with the manufacturer
This is a common problem. Probably your Logitech camera software is running in the background when you are also trying to use one of the chat programs. You can only have one program at a time open that displays the camera. If you don't have two programs open, try to uninstall the camera software and reinstall it to hopefully clear up the problem caused by a previous corrupt or bad installation.
You would first install the cd and follow what it tells you to do as far as plugging the camera in is concerned. Then after the cd is finished installing everything, there should be a program for the camera on your desktop where you can control everything from, from focus to contrast and brightness and everything. Try disconnecting the camera from the USB port and reinstall
the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to

Black screen in Veo Digital Studio or Yahoo! Messenger.
Veo Digital Studio:
Start the Veo Digital Studio and then click on the "Take a Snapshot" button. The camera light should turn on.
Click the "Settings" button and then click the "Advanced Settings" button.
On the Video Quality screen, click the "Defaults" button to enable the default settings for the camera.
Click "OK" and then "OK" again. You should now see the live video on your screen.
If you still see a black image on the screen, try disabling the overlay feature to see if this resolves the issue:
Unplug the camera from the computer.
Start the Veo Digital Studio and then click on the "Take a Snapshot" button.
The Veo Digital Studio will indicate "Digital Video PC Camera is not connected to this computer." Click "OK" to this message.
Click the "Quick Fix" button and then check in the "Disable Overlay" checkbox. Click "Fix it" and then close out of the Veo Digital Studio.
Plug your camera back into the computer and then try the Veo Digital Studio again.
Make sure that your camera works and you can see yourself by following the steps above for the Veo Digital Studio.
Close the Veo Digital Studio and then start Yahoo! Messenger.
In Yahoo! Messenger, click on Tools->Start My Webcam.
If you see a black screen, in the My Webcam window, click on File->Preferences. On the left side of the Prefences window, select Webcam. Click on the "Camera Source" button. In the Camera Source drop down menu, select the Veo PC Camera or Veo Web Camera and then click OK.
Click on the "Camera Settings" button and then click the "Defaults" button.
