Zebra 330i 4c problems

We have a problem with the color ribbon and the print quality, monocolor is OK.
I think the sync of the 4/5c ribbon does not work properly, so we get parts of the printed card in black or sometimes in any color. Sometimes we get the message "OUT OF RIBBON", but is is new with only 10 cards printed.
The firmware and the driver have been updated yesterday and the printer has been cleaned and still has perhaps problems with the sensors???
Can we test or check the sensors ?

Thank you for your reply !

kind regards
Felix

Hi, did you try this?

Go to Printers and faxes, right click on the Zebra printer and go to properties. Under Device Settings, go to tools, then properties. At the top is a command window, in this you type the command !SA, that's an axclaimation mark followed by the capital letters S and A. This is the command to recalibrate. click execute, the printer will wizz and whir and then say ready. I've just done 20+ cards on mine and they're all fine.

Zebra 330i prints in pink or black on test print. New ribbon fitted.Cleaned and calibrated.

Either your print-driver settings don't match the ribbon installed, or you have a bad ribbon sensor. Check your driver settings via the Windows printer center screen (Win7: Start Button => Devices and Printers; WinXP: Start Button => Printers and Faxes); locate your Zebra printer, then right-click on it and select "Printing Preferences". Locate the tab for the ribbon setting, and ensure the setting here matches the ribbon you have loaded. NOTE - you must have Windows administrator rights for your Windows log-in ID to make any changes to the driver settings. Contact your network administrator if you do not have these elevated privileges, and they can log in and make any required change for you.

Panduit printer tdp43my wont print

There are lots of possible problems here: printer broken, bad cable to computer, bad roll of ribbon, labels don't match ribbon. I was having problems getting my TDP43MY to print correctly. I ended up removing the Panduit driver for the TDP43MY and installing the Zebra driver for the TLP 3842 instead. Turns out Zebra makes this printer. The Zebra driver worked much better for me. If you think everything else is fine (printer OK, cable OK, etc.) you might try installing the Zebra driver and see if that helps.

This is an old post but i still need help!! What does a Polaroid p85igc card printer use for a full color ribbon? Zebra p330i ymcko ribbon won't work

Right, zebra/eltron made the P310 printer before they started using smart ribbon. They also made the same printer as the J310 for Javelin and the P75 for Polaroid. These all ran on the same ribbon. Then there were the first "i" series machines the Zebra P310i, the Javelin J310i and the Polaroid P75i. These all ran on their own respective i series ymcko ribbons. Now here is my theory.... The new Zebra P330i runs on the same ymcko ribbons as the P310i and the Javelin J330i runs on the same ribbon sas the J310i. Don't know where the model number came from but the Polaroid P85igc is the same as the 330i printers. It therefore stands to reason that it will run on the same ribbons as the older P75i printer.
The YMCKO ribbons for the Zebra are coded 800015-440 for 200 print rolls, 800015-540 for 350 print rolls. I have seen a picture of a ribbon with 800015-540POL on it advertised for the Polaroid but cannot find anyone to sell it. I can find however a few US references to a ribbon for the P75i One is linked below. It may be worth a go if you get desperate. //www.identisource.net/pd_3151.cfm
The other alternative, as the machines are essentially the same, is to change the motherboard so the printer thinks it is a Zebra or Javelin and then buy much more readily available ribbons. We can swap the board for you but as a spare they are just over £400 incl VAT. YMCKO ribbons would only be around £30 for 200 image rolls, thats the genuine stuff not the knocked of rubbish that's around. www.pci-solutions.co.uk I shall investigate to make sure we can't "rebrand" the printer by changing its firmware, but I doubt if it will be that easy.

What does a Polaroid p85igc card printer use for a full color ribbon? Zebra p330i ymcko ribbon won't work.

The "i"suffix was introduced in around 2005 to try to stop patent infringements on the printer ribbons. They introduced a chip on the spool that feeds back to the printer. The chip has to be the correct coding for the badge of the printer. Zebra P330i printers are essentially the same as Javelin J330i and Polaroid p85igc but have three different part numbers for their YMCKO ribbon. You can run any monochrome ribbon on them because the mono ribbons have no chip.....not much profit for the brand owners. YMCKO however is not interchangeable. Find a Polaroid dealer for the full colour ribbon.

Zebra print jus blue color

The "i" is the newer series. You will run into problem trying to install the P310C with the P310i drivers. More so if you are running Windows Vista. In that case don't even try.

If your computer has excepted the drivers that you have. Go into the Printer Properties; General Tab; Printer prefs; Advanced button in the bottom right corner ;next, and change the Ribbon type. K is for Black 1 color ribbon.
Try YMCKO for Full COlor. If the ribbon is also YMCKO.

Broken ribbon message for my zebra card printer

It could mean that the ribbon sensor on the printer is broken. Sounds like you need to send back to zebra for repair. This is free if printer is still under warranty. check out zebra's website for info on how to return printers for service.

Zebra P330i

we have the same problem with our 330i !!

I updated the firmware to V1.16.11 and the printer drivers as well, then I started the cleaning process.
The printer has printed only 337 cards, so it is rather new.

All monocolor printed cards are ok (black, gold,...), but not even one 4color card.
It looks like the sync of the colorribbon does not work properly.
Is there a possibilty to check the sensors or are perhaps informations about the sensors on the cardtest-card ?

Thank you for any help !
